Santander Central Hostel

Excellent location but missed the sign a few times!! Perhaps have one at street level would help! Trees get in the way from a distance. Friendly staff who take pride in keeping up high standards! Clean! Excellent reading light that doesn't affect others. Eeffective ceiling fans!

Excellent helpful staff - I was allowed to leave my suitcase after checkout until I had to go to the airport. Short walk to everything you need in Santander. Supermarket a few yards away. Super kitchen and eating area, nicely decorated, window to fresh air, all the equipment you need to cook. Separate sofa area with TV. You can meet people walking the Camino de Santiago, which is very interesting! I was lucky enough to land the last 'capsule' bed, with more privacy, and a fan and light (though you can't charge your phone at the same time). The other dormitory has open bunk beds. Very good security at the hostel, so you feel safe. Lockers in the dormitories.

Kitchen and dining area closes at 10 or 11 pm (I can't remember the exact time) so you can't make a hot drink if you come back late. Nowhere to hang any clothes in the capsule bed. Worst thing was the bathrooms - very small, only 2 showers and 2 toilets for women, and I assume the same for men. No changing area with the showers - you had to change in the toilet. I do not think this was enough, as the hostel was full.

Only stayed one night prior to heading to Bilbao the following morning. The female dorm and bathroom were spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn’t check out the kitchen facilities. It was close to restaurants and just opposite the bus station.

The form would benefit from having some shelving at each bed or a basket to hold a phone etc.

Pods were comfortable, location is ideal

Very young, party vibe guests. The shower only runs each time you push the button so it was difficult to have a comfortable shower.
