The flooring is non-slip LVT throughout.

A substantial folding table and comfortable chairs are provided in the kitchen area which is neatly and beautifully designed to maximise the space. There is a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge and everything you could need for a self-catering holiday including a good selection of cooking utensils and plenty of crockery and cutlery. There is an espresso machine available which takes Nespresso classic pods (not VertuoLine). Just off this room is a cupboard containing the washing machine and the table top freezer (34 litres, approx. half size of an under counter freezer) plus iron and ironing board, all neatly tucked away.

Shower Room
Fully tiled modern wet room with a state of the art toilet (ideal for disabled/infirm guests), sink and shower.

All around the garden on 2 sides there is chestnut paling, approximately 4 ft. Behind that is evergreen laurel hedging over 6' providing a visual as well as physical barrier. The bottom of the fencing is filled with chicken fencing to stop little dogs getting through and the gates are at least 1.2m high. On the other side there is a solid fence. There is a tall metal gate in the rear of the garden that leads to a separate garden which contains a Summerhouse with wicker chairs and deckchairs.

From the moment we got through the door, it was clear that dogs are VERY welcome at The Lodge in East Ruston. From the gorgeous throws piled up to use on the sofas if your dog isn’t a fan of lounging on the floor, to the luxurious dog beds for them if they are, it was a very warm welcome. There was a lovely welcome pack for us, full of fresh produce, as well as a welcome pack for Sadie. Sadie didn’t just receive a couple of treats, there was a whole jar of them at her disposal, plus dog towels, luxury beds, soft throws, multiple dog bowls to choose from (it was as if they already knew our fussy diva!). It didn’t stop there though. Outside in the shed, we also found two large dog crates at our disposal, and some toys which delighted our girl. Our dog is very much a member of our family, so to welcome her so heartily with open arms immediately gave us the same feeling. The lodge itself was spotlessly clean, with everything you could possibly need, provided for. They had even thought of people with disabilities, with a ramp alternative to the steps outside, wide door ways, rounded corners to the kitchen units, and a wonderful shower wet room with optional shower seat. This lodge went above and beyond on the welcome front, and it was so appreciated. Thank you!

Another perfect holiday, my rescue loves the lodge and the big garden. The wet room is amazing as I’m disabled and struggle in normal showers and bathrooms. There’s everything you could wish for and more , everything is about the dogs . Already booked again this year and next year. Sue and her team go the extra mile to make everything perfect.

The Lodge is the perfect place for a couple and their pooch to relax and unwind. It has everything you could need including the most comfy bed and excellent walks along Weavers Way from your doorstep. We had been before and it was the only place we have found where our dog truly relaxed. However Jake is terrified of firework/gunshot type bangs and we have learned spring is not a good time to visit for us despite Sue’s excellent support and intervention. We will hopefully be returning but not in Spring.

I stayed in the lodge with my wife and dog. It was ideally situated for us with a reactive dog as it was very quiet and surrounded by countryside. The Lodge was very clean and had everything provided for a comfortable stay. The extra touches were very much appreciated. There were dog bowls, towels, toys and biscuits. Also fresh eggs, butter, cheese, milk, bread. Toilet rolls etc. the garden area is perfect. The only downside was the settee isn’t particularly comfortable and the tv sound not great. These didn’t affect us thoroughly enjoying our stay and would definitely recommend it.
