Well situation in the heart of Nikko. The rooms are both traditional Japanese style but also offer western beds also.
It is a little dated and the outside could use some attention. But the interiors are kept immaculately.

What a lovely long weekend at this hotel. She’s showing her age in a few places but overall she was very comfortable, and the staff are just wonderful. The onsen baths were beautiful and relaxing, and I enjoyed the buffet dinner especially the freshly cooked tempura and local beef. The rooms are also really big!
My room smelled slightly of smoke when I first walked in, I don’t think it was because someone had been smoking in it recently but maybe because it was a smoking floor previously? The smell of smoke never really leaves. It wasn’t so bad as to make me want to ask to change rooms though.

The view of the river was great and having a public bath onsite for daily use was awesome.
Not a lot around for restaurants so we booked the dining plan. It was okay. Buffet is not my favourite but there was a lot of food and variety. Nice to see the hotel attracts a lot of families. Parking was free and convenient. You need a car if you’re staying in this area.
The room smelled so strongly of smoke every time we entered. Needs a refresh in a big way.
The room wasn’t dirty, just old and a bit dingy.
Same with public bath.
