    Our experience at Ambassador Hotel, Hanoi, was quite disappointing, especially considering the price we paid. The property photos on Agoda were misleading, and the actual hotel felt much smaller than we had expected. The breakfast spread was also quite limited. We were travelling with our parents, which made the experience particularly frustrating. Upon checking in, we noticed that one of the lamps in our parents’ room was not working. Although the issue was fixed after we reported it, things took a much worse turn the following night. When our parents returned to their room at around 10–11 PM, after a long day of travelling and sightseeing, they found the entire floor flooded with water. The toilet jet was leaking with such force that water had spread from the bathroom into the room. It was an extremely unpleasant and unacceptable situation, especially for our elderly parents, who were already exhausted. We immediately reported the issue at reception. To be fair, the receptionist was very sweet, and a staff member tried to clean the bathroom and fix the leaking jet himself. We were informed that a plumber was unavailable because it was the weekend and there were holidays. However, what was even more disappointing was the way the manager handled the situation the following morning. Instead of acknowledging the seriousness of the issue and addressing our concerns professionally, she started blaming us for allegedly breaking the toilet jet. This accusation was completely unreasonable, as we had left the room in the morning and returned only around 10–11 PM that night. We even suggested checking the CCTV footage to verify the circumstances, but the manager had no meaningful response and was quite rude in her approach. While we appreciate the receptionist’s kindness and the staff member’s efforts to help that night, the hotel’s maintenance issues and, more importantly, the manager’s unprofessional and accusatory behaviour left us with a very negative impression. Overall, this was a disappointing stay, and we would not recommend this hotel, particularly for families travelling with parents. Good hospitality is not just about the property itself; it is also about how a hotel treats its guests when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, the management fell well short of our expectations.

    Location is good, but standard rooms are very small.

    The location was somewhat convenient and the Wi-Fi worked well, but the room size felt cramped and housekeeping was lacking. Transport options were decent, though airport access was inconvenient. Staff service and facilities left much to be desired, making the overall experience underwhelming and not great value for money. Also they charge 5% for card payment. Receptionist was very polite and helpful

    Very basic facilities, no lift to rooms on the front of the hotel, no window in 25sqm double room as advertised. Very hard bed and cold water in the shower. You can do so much better in Hanoi.
