Guesthouse Suzukaze

Spent the night here with some friends (2 couples / 2 rooms) on a road trip from Miyazaki down south near Kagoshima. We got two rooms on the western side of the property, which was actually its own self-contained wing. The owner speaks English and was very friendly / hospitable - he told us we basically had that wing to ourselves, so we were able to have a little party and play board games / drink that night without having to worry about noise. For dinner, the owner helped us order delivery food from a local spot nearby -- huge portions of tasty fresh Japanese cuisine, which we enjoyed in the large common dining / living area. The property is situated in the countryside outside of Shibushi, among rice fields. A peaceful and scenic setting.

自然豊かで、近くに温泉や食事が出来るところがあり快適に過ごせました。部屋も開くて清潔、快適でした。 オーナーさんもフレンドリーでいろいろな旅行談義も聞けて良かったです。

特にありませんが、太い道からの入り口と広すぎる駐車場が少し判りにくいかな。

朝食が美味しかった！

脱衣籠が無かった事と、お茶のサービスは良いのだけど、飲み終えたあとの下膳の置き場が無かった。

Nice tatami room, clean and simple with everything you need. The deck is an added benefit. I was on my own, a bigger group should try for the garden view room - very Kyoto. The owner and his wife were absolutely lovely.

Paper screens means quite bright at night time. I travel with an eye mask. There is a street light outside. Perhaps it could be turned off at 10pm ish? It’s far from town, bring your own food - microwave, no IH ring.
