Le Meridien Taichung

Good breakfast buffet with enough variety to keep us happy for the days we were there. Location was in the old Taichung district & near the legendary Miyahara shop, both the old & new train stations & great range of F&B options for different budgets. The service was brisk, efficient with a gentle personal touch. Just 2 out of many examples were: our 1st day, we were heading to a popular restaurant and the young lady at concierge immediately offered to check if there were seats and made the booking for us. On our last day, we asked to check out a little after the standard time as one of us were feeling ill. The front desk immediately despatched a housekeeper to check on us and offer help, in addition to allowing us to stay a little longer. We really appreciated the care :)

Night lights were useful but a touch too bright near the bed for a light sleeper. The glass walls separating the bedroom from the bath area meant we could not leave the low lights on at night as it shone through the glass.

We really like our time at le Méridien. The staffs are all friendly and always smiling it so easy to approach them. The room over all is splendidly amazing i like it's ambiance and peacefulness. Our time here is really something we won't forget. 😊🥰

spacious new and clean bedroom cha ginger room in the gym are nice I forgot a jacket in the closet, when retrieving my luggage after lunch, it was ready with my belongings, very appreciated.

Check-in Laborious i checked in, i was told the pool is not available for "sanitation". no one uses sanitation that requires closure once a month. it is a pretext to use the rooftop as an event space once a month to make more revenue. which is ok, but don't lie to guests. when complaining, I was told.the same. I got.sent a letter to the room explaining it was written in booking.com. in deed it was but below.revoews, all the way at the bottom. is your purpose is.for.guests to have a good time or to prove you are right somehow? a letter to explain to your guest he is.wrong, and 0 offer or compensation? offer a drink or something just to make your guest.feel like you are actually sorry. rooftop set up is great for event, but very poor for individual guests. messy high tables, 1/4 set up during day time pool looks like a bassinet added. staff at the rooftop were very average. I did not feel welcome. I asked to have a drink when arriving,, the staff asked me what do I want to drink while walking to the table?? he led me straight inside, did not bother to know if I wanted to sit outdoor. I sat, I was asked my room number and name before even being given a menu. it was mandatory to give my name for a drink.if I give my room number you have my name no? I checked out. got asked again for.my card and signature, even tho the amount was less than the deposit. I tried to go lunch at 11:45am, the Chinese restairant was closed, the buffet restaurant had a line of waitress and waiter doing nothing,, I repeated twice I did not have a booking and wanted a lunch for 1, for one lady to tell me no, we are fully booked, even for guest in house. no alternative location was provided. the concierge sat me in the lobby for lunch. worst 5* lobby experience ever, I had to stand up for everything I wanted to order. the poor waitress was alone to handle everything service and barista. I request soy sauce and chili to be with the fried rice, there is no mise en place.

Spacious room

火車站對面雜亂無風景，停車場看起來非常老舊，而且只有1.8m根本下不去。假日住房大廳亂糟糟，還有很多房客攜帶寵物搞的我好像住在寵物旅館。重點是房價竟然要9009，實在無法接受。
