Landhotel Mariensäule

Great location and good breakfast.

Nothing.

I had low expectations because some reviews on google maps are saying, that the rooms and furniture are in bad shape and needs to be refurbished. It seems, that there are different levels of quality, because my room (No.12) was spacious, clean and in good shape. It had a balcony and a nice sitting area indoor with views to the Mariensäule, Inn and Neuburg Castle. So I can't complain and I was satisfied with my room.

I choosed this hotel also because of its restaurant. Unfortunatelly it was closed during my stay in January which was a major disappointment - that is the reason, why I rate my stay 7, otherwise it would be 9. The breakfast was quite basic, but o.k. It was very hot in the room and there was no way for regulating the heating. No reception, only self-check-in. Luckily my self-check-in worked well. Another couple was not that lucky - it was 16:40h and their check-in was refused with the message "Check-in starts at 15:00h" and there was no-one to pick up the phone as they called the hotel's emergency number.

The cleanliness was superb! The room was very comfortable and had a balcony, which was incredibly nice, the view from the room is wonderful.

It's not the fault of the guesthouse, but it was really difficult to get there from the highway, it was heavy rain, so the bridge by Scharding was closed, than it was roadwork on the highway with poor management, so I've missed the next exit. So finally I had to make a 30 km detour.

the bed and towels were very clean.

bathroom was DIRTY. I was shocked. shower had dirty and used body wash bottles and a used razor in it, the higher shelf had not been wiped in a long time and the cup had residue in the bottom of it.
