Mitra Mcleodganj

Mitra hostel is one of the closest hostel you can stay in for access to Mall road Mcleodganj. It's comfortable, value for money. There is a steep walk you have to take to get to the hostel, but all roads in Mcleodganj are steep so after 1-2 days you get used to it. There is a nice rooftop cafe with a view. Wifi speed was top notch. The building and things inside are a bit old, but everything is functional. Lots of travellers come in and go. The location is close to a lot of cool cafes and shops so no issue about anything. Overall, a good hostel.

The cafe upstairs always smells of smoke which I personally didn't like.

I stayed here for more than a week for workation and the thought of moving to another place did not even occur once in my mind. The staff is great. Hygeine is maintained. The roof top cafe is the highlight. The indoor sitting have got all the vibes with beautiful seating, views, music and great food. Food prices are reasonable. Outside terrace gives you a great view of mountains (You do not need to hike Triund). Its connectivity is the best whether its Dharmshala, Dharamkot or Bhagsu. This stay has got all the cafes just around the corner and best one falls over the roof of this stay 😉 Mitra hosts Mahi and Neema are kind and helpful. They never makes you feel out of home. They will sit and chill with you. Its a must go place when you are in McLeodganj. Recommended for workation.

They make you feel so comfortable that you end up staying here in one place only😄. Moving away to next stay when beds are not available will make you feel sad.

1. I got my private room upgraded by surprise. 2. Close to main street. 3. Helpful staff, when i asked to reduce movie volume after 11pm, they did it.

Music of any sort. 1. Very noisy place. All night barking dogs. 2. It’s bad idea to shout down car’s horn and barking dogs with all day music on reception, all day music at dining hall. 3. Suppose, tourists visit this place looking for peace and quiet. With expectations to hear voices of nature and birds.
