Dingy/ Deprived of ambient light/ Breakfast could have been better

The rooms were nice enough, the location is great, central and safe. No real gym though - just a room with no equipment.

If you get an inward-looking room (which are most of them), you will hardly get any sunlight, and will have another room's window 1 metre across from you. On top of that, the staff is not the friendliest, and I have two issues to outline here (since we stayed twice within a week): - When we first checked in, the room was an inward room (reason why I avoid them). I went down to reception, and asked whether I could have a room facing outwards - the receptionist said they didn't have any left. She offered to upgrade for US$30/night, but we declined. I said I didn't mind downgrading the room we had booked as long as it had more lighting, so she said to just come down in half an hour (when her colleague gets there) and ask, as she couldn't go up to show me the other room. So we do that, the other colleague sends a housekeeper to show me the room, and when we said we'd stay in that one, he said that that was an upgrade and it was US$20/night. I told him what I had told his colleague earlier, that I wanted to see one of the basic rooms, and he said that that's not what she had told her. He ended up giving us a different outside-looking room, but it was such a hassle for no reason, and the random pricing of upgrades just makes you feel like you're getting scammed. - The second time we checked in, when asking the receptionist if we could have an outward-facing room, he gave us the room they had shown us last time (the upgrade one). I then asked him if that was the room type we had booked (same type as last time) and he confirmed it. Felt like they were trying to scam us the first time, but oh well. Now, my issue here was with payment: I got charged more than what it was supposed to be; when I asked him (and showed him how much the cost in US$ was in ARS), he said that since there's inflation, they apply a higher rate to cover their costs. I'm sorry, what?

Nice hotel in downtown area, staff were very helpful

I was told in advance that I could check in before 3:00 p.m., but when I arrived, I was told that I had to wait until 3:00. I ended up waiting for five hours from 10:00 a.m. even though I was exhausted after a long flight. It made me feel quite uncomfortable.
