A clean, cosy, and otherwise very good three-star hotel at a very reasonable price, located in the heart of Auckland. There is an excellent laundry on the ground floor. The staff are very friendly. The only two issues are, first, that Wi-Fi is not provided by default, and second, the hotel does not take fire safety seriously: at least on the 18th floor, where I lived, the fire door that is supposed to stay closed was wedged open and fixed in that position.

Nice spacious and clean rooms and bathroom, there are all necessary kitchen utensils. Excellent location. Quiet, comfortable, friendly staff. There is a laundry room on the ground floor.

Value for money. We stayed here for two nights. Overall, good accommodation and clean rooms. Tea, coffee, towels, linen, soap and shampoo are provided. There is a convenient shop next to the building but closes at about 9pm. Restaurants and other shopping places are little bit far – about 15 to 20 min walk. Train stations including “The Strand Station” are little bit far and need taxi. Only street parking is available and free between 6pm and 8am. All other time need to pay for parking (about 4NZD per hour). Very helpful reception and accommodate late check-in (about 10pm). Reception staff given us good useful information about the area. Wifi is available but need to pay to use. I will use them again.

The only downfall was that the bathroom was falling apart. Other than that it was an excellent stay. Everyone was super friendly including guests and it was a very convenient location for what we needed having small children with us. They thought they were queens being on the top most floor!! Brilliant!

You get what you pay for with this accommodation—ideal for budget travelers looking for a no-frills room with a bed. The area primarily caters to students, so it has a bit of a dormitory vibe. The bed was decent, but the shower was small and had a curtain instead of a door. The room could have used an extra cleaning, as there was a strange smell that required us to open the windows for ventilation. That said, for a one-night stay at this price, I can't complain. The location in Auckland is excellent, close to Queen Street.

Great central location, walkable to downtown Auckland and all it has to offer... However, lots of hills, so bring your good legs lol... Parking is kinda spendy, be prepared... Staff was very helpful and friendly, room was clean and welcoming and nicely appointed... Vending machines as well as a convenience store and burger restaurant on site... Enjoyed my stay!

My needs as a Customer are pretty minimal, but Empire Apartments meets those needs every time. The staff who greeted me were kind and polite and informative. People in and around the place were also friendly who speaks of their clients and reputation. Will stay here again.

Property was ok for the night, but room was very basic and quality of the bed was average. Loud drunk neighbours at 1am, with occasional yelling. But I do realise that the apartment is in a student location and designed for that market.

Facilities were average but that is reflected in the price and basically what we expected. However, the location is fantastic, easy to walk to town. We did a lot of steps but saved us money!

Cheap accommodation. Insufficient seating or space available for the 6 adults booked. Lounge area that was shown in photos appeared to have been converted to a 3rd bedroom. Beds were cheap, nasty and uncomfortable. There were 2 bathrooms.

Wasn’t to bad. Bed was really uncomfortable, like all springs. Pillows were very flat. Place was clean and tidy. No atmosphere really. Walls were very thin so you could hear the conversations in the next room. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Elevator to the 19th floor was a bit crunchy lol. There wasn’t much a round the area. We ended up ubering everywhere as it seems to be down a hill in a no exit. It was fine, a roof over my head for the night. Can’t complain.

Staff were quite rude and unfriendly, bad experience dealing with them. Rooms were average with lots of paint work needing fixing up. Beds were very creaky. Definitely only good for a very short stay.

The property doesn’t pretend to be what it isn’t, which I can respect. But the very dated furnishings and extremely poor internet (which is additional) needs to be addressed.

We did like the fact that it catered for 6 beds. Didn't like the fact that one of the TV's didn't work, and 920 didn't have a tv and 921 had 2 in one bedroom. There wasn't crockery or cutlery for everyone. And the no carpark situation was a nightmare and costly.

Photos of building in website looks stunning but when you see it it is far from the photos. Paintings in hallways coming off, cupboards are broken, bed sheet we found blood stain on it.. Chair is broken.. Carpet is just placed on top of the old carpet which is poorly cut on the edges.. Not sure we are going back there.. Also no parking and we had to park somewhere and walk..

Nothing unique at all. Very deceiving. I dire know where they got the photos they posted on their website but don’t be fooled ! It looks nothing like that. The elevators stink and dust covers most of the corners of the room. There’s a very unpleasant smell in all the corridors and inside the rooms as well

Poorly equipped, requests for simple things never materialised. Loud music and fights in the corridor leading to holes in the wall and the police being called armed with tasers. Avoid if you’re with young children.
