The location is very good with view to the port. Rooms are clean with a retro touch. Suitabke for people who are ok with Contactless check in . All rooms on first floor , doesnt have a lift. So may.not.work for.people.who.cant hail their luggage.1 floor .

We have just returned from a great weekend visiting Oban , we were very pleased with the studio room accommodation we had in the Kelvin Hotel . The staff were very welcoming and friendly , the rooms very clean and spacious. To make the weekend more memorable was the welcome we received on the Friday evening when we returned to the hotel lounge , the staff and guests had a great time chatting and listening to Michael and his daughter entertaining everyone with the accordion and beat box music, a great surprise and enjoyable evening for us all. I would recommend this Hotel accommodation to anyone looking to visit the lovely town of Oban.

Leaving aside Oban’s gouging hotel prices The Kelvin is still very expensive and frankly, shabby.
It needs a lot of attention and upgrading to justify its tariff.
Great Reception Guy clearly doing his best but the hotel should be buzzing given its proximity to the ferry terminal, it’s not.
Lots of potential but it needs investment that is clearly not forthcoming.
