Great location to stay

Great team , very supportive. They gave us upgrades to see view , and the view was really amazing and memorable

Beautiful stay with friendly, attentive staff!

Beautiful location! Very attentive, kind staff, clean. Comfortable bedding. Good Breakfast! Delicious dinner.

Room decor is dated and shows wear and tear. Bathroom is tiny. Toiletries were minimal.

Terrible experience

The location of the hotel was good

Everything else. Poor value for money. The hotel deluxe triple room description on booking.com was not accurate. There was no kitchenette, no bath, no air conditioning, no fridge and a very small room. The items listed in the room description are wrong. The room was boiling hot, they claimed there is no air con in the whole hotel as they have switched this off for winter. The weather was hot and we were not even offered a fan. We were also served stale bread in the restaurant during dinner. We had to ask for this to be changed. The food portions were tiny. They did not have the wine listed on the menu. They seemed to only have merlot or a local wine. The reception was very unwelcoming. When I approached them about the room description they said booking.com had advertised it incorrectly. Also, they took our passport and would not give it back until we were in our room despite the room being fully paid upfront. We had to ask for it back but they said they could put it in a safe. We said we wanted our passport back. This is a hotel I would definitely not recommend.

In spite of the location will not be returning to this hotel. Not at all enjoyable.

The location is literally the only thing of value at this hotel. A few staff members like Claudio were helpful and we appreciated his feedback.

Where to start: the hotel is one of the worst value-for-money stays that we have ever had. You're basically paying Euro500+ for the location/view and Euro 150 for the room. So at a total cost of Euro 675 this is a ridiculous price for what is offered. The quality of the facility is at best 2.5 - 3 stars. The cleanliness was poor. For the duration of our stay there was a mop and pail left outside on our corridor. The veranda area was poorly kept. Most staff were not friendly and not particularly inviting.

Exceeded my expectations!

The staff were the highlight! Extremely friendly and hospitable. They helped with every request we had and went above and beyond to make sure were were happy. The room was very comfortable and the best part was waking up to the beautiful views every morning! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

The bathrooms could have been bigger for two people but that wasn't a big deal.

the location was excellent! swimming spot and cafe right in front of the hotel. simply lovely. the breakfast was great, all staff were friendly and professional !

the lobby and paint design in guestrooms seems dated. the lobby could be gorgeous with a few coats of white paint and new sofas, a cool lamp here and there.

Living in Paradise !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Portofino! Room 101 was spectacular with the big open windows overlooking the street and beautiful sea! The location was perfect and short walk to shopping with spectacular views along the way. The staff were very attentive! Santa Margarita was beautiful and a must see!

Superb location with access to the water and lounge chairs on the terrace to the water. 5 minute walk to town. All Staff was excellent and friendly (except for one grumpy desk man). Delicious breakfast and dinner as well.

The condition of the room needs serious update. Shabby white chipped paint. Decor does not suit the historic location and architecture of the hotel. A sheet covered the couch(which was a sleeper but we were not using as a sleeper. No real public lounge area inside (early in the season so outdoor areas were not open yet).

Amazing location, just a few minutes to walk to Portofino. Nice big room and everything you need for breakfast. Different egg dishes can be ordered freshly made.

Perfect location. Very helpful staff, we returned following a stay last year. We arrived after the kitchen had closed at lunchtime, we were late due to traffic. But they still managed to serve a cold lunch at the restaurant overlooking the beach which was so kind.

Beautiful location but would benefit from some modernisation

We loved the location and the terrace restaurants. Also the staff were amazing- so friendly and hospitable.

The rooms were tired and the bathroom was very small - insufficient for a family. Also the private beach was not private and was very dirty with rubbish.

Cute hotel

Cute little hotel perched along the sea front, slightly out of the center of town. Please note, this was in no way a drawback. Exterior of the hotel and location are very pretty. The property has it's own little lido with bar up along side the small public beach. The staff was really excellent, especially housekeeping which was right on top of changing out used towels, etc.

As mentioned, the exterior is very well kept but the interior, including lobby, room furnishings, bathroom etc....do need to be updated. Also, it is possibly the only hotel I have ever been in, which did not provide complimentary drinking water! Lastly, the breakfast was just OK. Overall, I liked it but did not consider it a good value for money, given how crazy expensive it was.

The place.

Waiter remarks. There were just two tables taken. At the end of the breakfast period, when we arrived to have breakfast. I chose a table and the waiter came saying it it is a tble for three, not for two. I was unpleasantly surprised when it was obvious that no one else will come and that there were a lot of tables not taken. Not a great welcome. Another issue when leaving they bright the car to a small parking close to the hotel but the valet left and the othe staff couldnt find the car key for over 30 min.
