Villablanca Garden Beach Hotel

I think it is typical of hotels at Cozu;mel - they are very far away from the town and you have to take a taxi everywhere, but there are taxis going back and forth all the time so all you have to do is go to the road and hail a taxi. There are no convenience stores around, and this was a very minor inconvenience. The hotel was very nice. The grounds are beautiful, our room and bathroom was very nice; the room was spacious. I would stay there again.

This hotel has that old Mexico charm and hospitality.

The room itself was very spacious, which I really appreciated. The staff were excellent throughout our stay: friendly, helpful, and attentive. A special mention goes to Mary from housekeeping, who cleaned our room beautifully every day and surprised us with towel animals daily. This small touch made me smile.

That said, the hotel does feel a bit dated. The overall look and feel shows that the property is getting older, and some things could definitely use an update. The water in the shower and sink is salt water, which might surprise you if you are not expecting it. I traveled during low season, so the hotel felt quite empty with very few guests around. Unfortunately, the restaurant next to the pool was closed during my stay, which meant there was no option to order food or drinks by the pool, a bit of a pity because the pool area itself is nice. A few other small downsides: the AC in the room was pretty loud, and the balcony was very small. There is also no direct ocean access from the property, although I already knew that when booking. Overall, while the hotel may be showing its age, the excellent service made the stay pleasant. If you come here knowing what to expect, it can be a nice and comfortable place to stay.

Spacious room, pretty good location, comfortable. The staff was nice, and I had a free breakfast in a small restaurant nearby.

The hotel is old. After my shower the water just stayed there.
