The bathroom shower had a significant amount of mold. Coffee pot was at least 40 years old and badly stained. Furniture and decor were dated. Unsure that blanket had been washed, but it was very worn. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Towels were very thin/cheap.

Location and price were great. Owners were attentive. Some who are used to new hotels in suburbia might find the rooms dated but not unusual for non- chain rooms in FL. For example, no central air, older window AC, no soap dishes in bathroom, etc. I'm fine with old school and the Wi-Fi works great and a full kitchenette and beach chairs! Two blocks to the beach and all the restaurants and bars for a great price what more child you ask for

The Breakaway Inn is a diamond in the ruff, couldn't be happier. From the moment we meet the owner to the last day was amazing. Close to the beach, food and shopping. The weather was amazing. They took care of us and made sure they were there if we needed anything. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

From accommodating our early arrival, to the arrangement of a late checkout, we could not have asked more. Our room was spotless, kitchen had everything we might need, and the water pressure in the shower could practically peel paint-just the way we like it. The courtyard was quiet, and we more or less had the pool to ourselves for the duration of our stay. Just a few steps to the shops & dining, a couple of blocks to a grocery store, and the beach only minutes away by foot as well. Perfect.

This lovely gem is near everything in Lauderdale by the Sea. The pool is clean with Adirondack chairs and tables. The garden is lovely to just sit and relax in the nearby ocean's breezes. Beach chairs & towels are available, and a variety of after sun/burn products are too! We had a ground floor room with 2 queen beds, table & chairs, fridge, oven/stove, microwave, all pots, pans, plates, glass & tableware, plenty of closet/drawer space (with hangers), blankets, iron & board. They clean & change towels MWF. Parking on premises, with a 2-3 block walk to beach. Outside table and chairs to dine outside your room. Lots of restaurants, kitchy shops, a grocery store nearby. Try the Aruba Cafe on the beach. Yummy food, reasonably priced for what you get. Kilwins ice cream. We made friends with a local cat, but no pets allowed. Pleasant guests. Quiet. Very enjoyable stay.

Loved the Old Florida feel of the property. A lo ely Garden and heated pool. Owner/manager welcoming and always available. Super convenient, yet quiet! On the down side the wi-fi ranged from unreliable to nonexistent. They are in the process of upgrade though.

What a gem! Super comfortable beds, perfectly clean kitchen, bathroom, and living room and well kept property. The room I stayed in was an apartment with a full kitchen. Management on property and always available and super nice. 2 blocks from beach but there is a shortcut. Beach towels and chairs/umbrellas available upon request and guest laundry on site. If they were booked for when I come back in a couple weeks I would stay again!

Likes: Nice location. Walking distance to restaurants, beach etc. Place was clean. Bed was ok. Looked very nice from outside. Pleasant owner. Lived on property. Nice pool Felt safe Well stocked Pot and pans dishes etc. Nice play area across the street. Dislikes: place is older. Needs updated. Small room. Small shower. Bath towels were more like hand towels. Refrigerator didn’t keep food cold. Freezer door wouldn’t stay closed Every time you opened the refrigerator door the freezer door came open .Grills we’re old but useable.Didn’t like the fact that guest could not use the pool or no guest parking. So pretty much guest we’re not welcomed. Wasn’t sure if this is their policy all the time or just because it was the Fourth of July weekend. Ok stay and the price was right for area. Probably would not stay there again mostly because of the shower and the refrigerator.

If you plan on visiting family close to Lauderdale by the sea, I highly recommend staying somewhere else. The lady at the front desk will watch you closely to make sure no family visits you. My mother came to visit us and see her grandchildren and the lady said there is a strict no visitors policy and she had to leave right away. Our room had NO A/C in the middle of Florida’s summer heat. My children had to sleep in underwear because they were drenched in sweat. I mentioned it to the lady when I was leaving the next Day and she said “well it doesn’t really matter now because you’re leaving anyway”. I couldn’t believe her response. The pool is filthy to the point where my 7 year old grabbed the pool cleaner to try and get some of the filth out of it. This place is not worth it at all.

Lots of eating options in walking or driving distance. Walking distance for the beach. You had to pay to walk on the boardwalk. The place is older. We did go without water for 2 hours. Outlets were a premium. Hard to find. The coffee maker didn’t work so they brought us a portable. They had a power strip inside the dresser drawer in the front room. The also had a power strip hanging from the fridge that was over t to he kitchsink. The mattress in the main bedroom was really firm and the blankets were comfortable.
