At the last minute, I booked a solo trip to Punta Cana for a much needed 4 days rest from the cold. My experience was very good!!. The resort is very secured and gated for a single woman traveling by herself. The downside to it is that you have to take THEIR taxis to get out of the resort because ubers cannot get in and of course you're a tourist, they charge twice and sometimes triple of what that ride could have cost you with uber. And the process to let somebody in or even a uber is a bit long so you would just give up and pay the price !!... My room was AMAZING and big. I was welcomed with a bottle of red wine and a plate of fruits in the room. It was clean and there was many ventilation options. The staff was nice and helpful. The drinks were okay but I've had better drinks in other resort. The buffet food was good but the restaurants were a bit dissapointing... It was redondant and very similar to what they give in the buffet and I was expecting more because when you go to restaurants "a la carte" its to have another experience. Plus, if you dont like to walk prepare to wait for the bellboys to bring you to each places because everything is a bit of a distance from the main lobby. Also, they have a shuttle that brings you back and forth to the beach, every hour. One thing I didn't understand though, is I asked for a late check out because I was flying super late, they refused but than accepted me to take a shower in another room before I left.
