This was a very traditional Japanese hotel.
The staff were great and the western breakfast was really nice as well had a different one every day. Staff were very polite and helpful during our stay. View was great and beds very comfortable

This is a very lovely hotel in downtown Takayama. We were staying here for one night coming from Kusatsu. We had some issues with the GPS so were going to be late for dinner, we called them and they said they would hold dinner for us no issues. We had the Hida beef dinner which was fantastic. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic. The room had a nice view of the river and we left the door open all night without any noise. Most of the town closes down at 6pm but opens back up at 8am. The beds were very uncomfortable so glad we only stayed one night. The staff was very friendly. They helped us pick out our yukatas and gave us beautiful tabi socks as a souvenir.
