The interior design was lovely. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The option of a bath was a lovely addition to the property.

The walls are very thin. I might have been in a high traffic room area so I don’t know if that would apply to every room. Due to them allowing dogs in some rooms, I did struggle on my second night as I could hear a dog whimpering and due to constantly being let outside, I could hear their door slam all throughout the night.

It was a good place to stay the night! Affordable and clean.

It had a good location and it was a fairly cute hotel. Our room vas VERY small, but I saw other rooms while the staff was cleaning that were much bigger. Keep this in mind while reserving. We travelled with a lot of luggage and it was dificult to dig through our bags with the space we had available. Breakfast was great and the staff was attentive.

Only the aize of the room we picked, but there are bigger rooms available!

Lovely traditional hotel

It was a lovely traditional building, and the staff were very attentive. If you needed anything, they were happy to help. The food was also very good. The position of the hotel was good for people travelling by bus or train. Also, parking was available.

The hotel had entertainment, say between 9pm and 11pm. We did not go downstairs to see them as the noise was very loud, we heard it from our room. Maybe not everyone's choice. Also, on a personal point, several of the chairs in the dining room need to be recovered as they were damaged.

Lovely trip down memory lane supplied by the Cairngorms Hotel and staff !

The allocation couldn’t be better ,right in the centre of Aviemore. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the room was nice and quiet . The best bit of our stay was the breakfast,it was amazing ,great choice,hot breakfast was so tasty!the staff run it very well,toast freshly cooked (not brick hard!),delightful staff who are on the ball re coffee and tea etc,a breakfast set up run like a well oiled machine the ideal way to start your day.

My only little issue was the toiletries they say are supplied,for the cost of the room I feel a small bottle of shampoo and a small bar of soap is maybe not adequate.

Lovely, friendly comfortable hotel with a lively buzz. Loved it, definitely go back.

Great hotel in a good location. Although we were in a 'budget' double room which was above the bar the noise levels weren't intrusive and the live music ended prior to eleven o'clock, so didn't cause a problem. The room itself was cosy and comfortable and the en-suite facilities were lovely. There was a good choice of food on the menu for both dinner and breakfast and it was of very good quality and the waiting staff were excellent. Loved the reception area with the couches and armchairs where you can sit and have a drink and soak up the atmosphere.

Not really anything I could criticise the hotel for. Even the creaky staircase in reception added to the atmosphere of the hotel . The crows nesting in the surrounding trees were a bit noisy at six in the morning but there's not much the hotel can do about that.

Okay, but could have been better.

The room was clean and nicely done.

Some of the furniture is looking tired and worn. Also, it says it is dog friendly, but more dog tolerant, which is a shame for an outdoor location like Aviemore, the bar area should have a space for dogs. We also had a Munro completion event to which no one was interested in making it special or memorable. Staff on reception were not very receptive or friendly.

Excellent location. Very attractive traditional building. Clean and true to description.

Hotel guests cannot book a table for dinner. This can take a tourist by surprise . When one has been on the road all day and then you have to wait for an hour for a table in the hotel restaurant it is exhausting. Lovely food so well supported by locals but guests should be able to book for dinner.

A charming hotel in a very special town Aviemore in the highlands of Scotland.

the room was large and charming in the tower. View was over small town train station with mountains beyond.The breakfast was wonderful and included in the rate.

Brilliant location property, authentic Scottish feel, cosy rooms, good bar in the hotel

Extremely hot/stuffy through the night with no air con/fan or airflow which made it an uncomfortable nights sleep in the summer (unfortunate for us we stayed during a rare 30+ degree July day) Breakfast was sadly average. We arrived at 9.10am (breakfast served until 10am), and everything on the fry up was overcooked/dry and had clearly been sat in the kitchen since early service. Even the poached eggs served overcooked which you’d have expected at least would’ve been made fresh to order.

Disappointing

Hotel is charming on the outside and is in a great location. Bathrooms seem fairly new and are pretty nice.

Upon arrival we discovered that the hotel was entirely occupied by a wedding party. This posed a massive inconvenience as it prevented use of the restaurant and bar. When we asked if could dine in the restaurant, we were told it would be close to 2 hours for a table due to the wedding party. This was a big issue as we had no reservations elsewhere due to the fact we expected to eat in the hotel restaurant. We struggled to find anywhere to eat as everywhere in Aviemore was fully booked. The staff were also very rude pointing out that there was a wedding taking place as if if was our fault for booking this date. When in reality had we been informed in advance about the wedding, we would have booked elsewhere. The photos of the rooms are rather misleading. They portray them to be light and airy when in reality they are dingy and dated. They are also separated by a very thin partition wall which we could hear the people in the room next door talking through. We also booked a double room which contained 2 single beds pushed together. For £150 a night this was unacceptable. Overall our stay was less than satisfactory and quite disappointing.

1st morning I ordered poach eggs well eggs were like hard boiled. 2nd Morning what I ordered I didn't get &again eggs were hard not runny &this time it was fried . The food I got was fine & staff on floor were good. Just a pity about the cook doing the eggs

Comfortable, clean, good shower and bed, central location, good evening and breakfast food, staff friendly.

No lift and all the bedrooms are upstairs. If returning, I would ask for a first floor room again.

Great location, good breakfast.

All staff were sour. Not one person actually smiled at us. Upon going down to dinner, I asked for a table for 2 and the waiter referred to me as “sir”. The man stood behind me and put the waiter right - it was very awkward when I’m very much a woman. Breakfast staff were rushed and very to the point. Just disappointing as we frequent the restaurant 4-5 times a year when we are up. The weekend stay was a surprise for my husband’s birthday and I emailed ahead to ask if they might do anything in the room for him. I was told I could purchase a bottle of wine. It’s the little things that add up. Drinks prices at the bar are extortionate-London prices!
