Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville Beach By IHG

We spent several days at the Holliday Inn at their Jacksonville beach location for my daughter in law to attend a friends wedding. I went along with her to keep my grandchildren while she attended the ceremony and other pre wedding activities with the other adults. I was surprisingly relieved to check in and see in person the great location as well as the nicely kept grounds of the hotel itself. It made keeping 4 kids busy and entertained the whole trip. You're walking distance from restaurants, a bowling alley, jump factory, and a circle k is less than a block away! The beach is a short walk or like a 2 minute drive to the public parking area. There's also a very nice park right behind that has tennis courts, basketball, volley ball, dog walk area as well as the regular park for the kiddos to play. The hotel itself is very clean, staff very polite and helpful, pool area well kept and clean towels available at the entrance. There's also a gym open 24 hours. Breakfast is available every morning with biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage and pancakes, plus any bagel, or muffin you can think of, cereal fresh fruit and warm cinnamon rolls! There was also a small area that had some of the small things you often forget to pack duck as razors, Tylenol, cards available to purchase at a reasonable price. The rooms were spacious and bedding clean with nice fluffy pillows. The bathroom has both a dialing tub as well as a stand up shower, with Dove shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the dispensers. The vanity sink has the hand soap and lotion available, and a blow dryer if needed. The closet contained a safe, ironing board and iron sling with several hangers and enough room for about a weeks worth of clothing. There is also a mini fridge and microwave in the rooms. The over all stay was amazing! I was able to book last limit, at a much cheaper rate than the hotels much further away from the beach and not near as updated or clean, nor did they offer the free breakfast bar (made feeding the children much easier, with the variety available there was something for them all) there's really too much to list, I highly recommend this hotel. Very family friendly, and the location is amazing offering so much within walking distance! I'll definitely be going back as soon as we're able, just to enjoy the amenities, along with the local businesses.

Breakfast was the only problem. There were too many people in a small space. It was loud and we were constantly waiting in line to get food. That was not fun.

Hotel is easy to get to and looks nice from the street. Lobby was nice but being repainted it seemed from the signs. Room was nice, bathroom needed some work. Extra screw holes in tile from where they moved the doors. Random drill hole in another that was growing mold around it. Everything eye level down was nice, ceiling was black mold in the corner and dirty. So as long as you don’t look up, it was great.
