The less said the better. Hostel would be a compliment, no hot water, terrible smell of dampness, used as a homeless shelter through covid. Thankfully Hotels.com moved me into a nicer hotel - complimentary for the second night. Do not book here if on a business trip.

It was ok. The bar was questionable, but the bed was comfortable. Generally not too noisy we had room in our standard double to put our travel cot up.

They had double booked my room, so after 30 minutes of waiting around they checked me in and had to turn the other people away. My room looked nothing like the pictures, cracked bathroom tiles, shower that doesn’t get warm and all round dated

Staff were doing their best but the hotel need some TLC and money spent to get it up to standard. Not the worst place but the previous write ups are obvious outdated and their haydays are in the past. Without the staff Luke and Carl i would not have stayed an extra night. They were the hotel. Carls food was spot on great. Lukes attention was also great. Hotel itself not so. Motel stroke canteen but potential is there ,just needs a lot of attention.

Love the view of the park. Good size of room clean and comfortable. Comfy bed plenty of tea and coffee etc. Water nice and hot for a bath or shower but it does need a new shower head.

Let's start with, this is the modern day and the kids wanted WiFi to watch their programmes. WiFi was not working all weekend. The downstairs bar area toilets had broken cubicle door locks and one of the toilets didn't even flush. The water pressure in the shower and bath was garbage on 201. There was no plug for the bath and I had to ask for one. Great when you have a toddler who won't stay put. The food want brilliant, deep fried mushrooms, who does that? No kids menu but they did get my youngest what he wanted but no price was given. Considering they sell to attract families, there was nothing for the kids to do. The windows in the room were sealed shut so I couldn't open them for air. They've attempted to make an effort downstairs with the decor but the rooms and service need a massive overhaul. And do something for the little ones.

Met with a friendly smile and intro to hotel. Directed to restaurant in hotel where we were only people in. Food was of pleasant standard and rooms were of a standard I had expected.

Turned up at 10.30pm to find no heating, no hot water and the room keys didn't work. Staff tried their best but we had a terrible first night. Situation got no better for the second night and we ended up checking out and going home to the Isle of Wight a 250 trip over night. Really not happy with this hotel.

The price of a room is unbeatable at £40 per night, and the building itself is interesting - late Victorian/ Edwardian with a stunning huge stained and leaded glass window in the centre. In the middle of Broadfield Park and at the top of a hill, it is very quiet, but only 5 minutes' walk from Rochdale town centre. The food was very good and reasonably priced, and the staff kind and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom contained everything you would need, and everything was impeccably clean. The furniture and fixtures are not ultra-modern, but serve their purpose perfectly well. Some minor points need attention, such as a couple of missing light bulbs (but several that worked), and a curtain rail which definitely needing replacing. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, which would need only a small amount of spending to eliminate any defects.

Stayed in room 117 which is in desperate need of renovations. The bed wasn't the best and there was no cold water which made the shower/bath a painful experience. Not sure when the last time it had a good clean either as there was tree bark and leaves all over the windowsill and dresser. You get what you pay for i suppose. The lady on reception was lovely and made sure we were well looked after. Thank you very much!

Although the lady on reception tried to sort out our problems quickly , I found this to be a very stressful stay The first room we had , room 101 was like an oven , windows don’t open and no a/c Shower was stuck on red hot / scalding There were 4 of us in 2 rooms getting ready for a wedding , my boys room had no shower head so one ran a bath whilst they tried to get another room ready so we could shower but the water was again way too hot ! We had to rearrange our plans which involved us getting taxis as we were running short of time due to the room / shower situation The staff at breakfast on the Thursday didn’t speak and bought coffee to us that was so weak had obviously been double filtered coffee and the full English served had been cooked earlier and kept warm so was dry and tasteless , I only ate the egg which I asked for poached which was the only thing freshly cooked but Friday’s breakfast was freshly cooked although the waitress looked and behaved very stressed even though there were only 2 others at breakfast The hotel is under going building work which I wasn’t told about at the time of booking and it was unpleasant to see . When you arrive at a hotel it is usually a nice experience but the first thing we saw was the area being renovated and a dirty dusty floor All in all a very un enjoyable experience They were unable to reduce our room rate but did not charge us for the breakfasts

Bedroom door broken. Radiator broken. Toilet flusher broken. No key for door. Inaccurate representation of room. “Breakfast included” misleading as was only included via room service which was not made clear. £16 for a bucket of hollandaise sauce with poached egg and bread. We raised our concerns with the receptionist regarding our experience and was consequently offered no refund. Don’t waste your money.

Bit dated but clean. Our room was above the kitchen so noisy even at 6pm when we arrived with the staff music and again from early morning with banging and music again.
