Hôtel des Princes – Chambéry Centre

Room was fine but only 1 spot to put a bag on and the bathroom was very narrow (My husband said his knees hit the wall when he sat on the toilet.) with a shower that was extremely small. I had to turn off the water to soap up and then turn it back on to rinse off. Breakfast was good.

I've stayed in many hotels, but I've never been so impressed. I'd particularly like to highlight the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, as well as the fantastic, imaginative, and culturally appealing amenities of the hotels. For example, upon entering the breakfast room, I was offered an explanation of the breakfast details. The hotel's location, right in the center, is also great. All of the important spots in the center can easily be reached on foot. I do have one small caveat, though. I was somewhat surprised that the hotel management demanded a guarantee in the form of a charge to my Visa card to cover any damage I might cause (e.g., smoking). To my knowledge, this is rarely required.

Clean and recently renovated. Also conference room in historic chapel of former convent.

Great location right in the old town. Close to the tourist info center which had lots of information about walking tours, museums and activities. Wonderful breakfast. Close to lots of great restaurants. Loved having air conditioning as 34 degrees C!
