Good size room with four poster bed and view over the courtyard. Plenty of hanging space. Decent size indoor swimming pool. Changing Rooms very hot, so went back to our room to shower.

Avoid

Disappointing. My expectations were higher based on the scores. They only could serve pizza at dinner, so not a restaurant. And they failed to tell me there was a pub 100m away that served food. Walls were thinnsh, i had noisy neighbours and had to get reception to ask them to be quiet. Adjacent plumbing noises also went right though the room. Staff friendly and place was clean, and the room was comfortable.

Staff very friendly, super clean room and very convenient for Lyndhurst. Pool an extra bonus!

My partner and I booked this hotel for a single night trip for my birthday in order to recharge in the country for a while and get away from the city, and unfortunately we left feeling like the hotel was the worst part of my birthday. Having stayed in other hotels by this local chain before we had high hopes that the hotel would be organised, clean and a well needed break for the night, and a spot we could go to to go for a swim, relax and just enjoy the location. The main area of the hotel is clean and well presented, so we were initially impressed, and the receptionist was helpful with advising where everything was and what we needed. Very quickly after arriving at the hotel we decided to go for a swim, and upon getting back to our room post-swim we realised our shower had no running hot water. This took 3 trips to reception to resolve and the keys we were given to other rooms didn’t work - when resolved the room was moldy, dirty, the carpet hadn’t been hoovered, the bathroom backsplash was half missing, and the paint everywhere was filthy. On top of all of this the communication was terrible and meant that we were rudely awoken at 8am with the cleaning team accessing our room, clearly not advised we had been moved. The experience completely ruined the birthday celebrations and given how lovely the other hotels in the chain are we were deeply disappointed.

Staff were great. Particularly one member of staff who was on reception when we arrived, in the bar when we came back later that night and then back on reception first thing in the morning. I cant recall her name but she was very helpful, extremely personable and a credit to the hotel.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel, a bit of a problem with the room, but the staff moved us to another room, which was better, so great attentive service 👍👍

This is a great location for walking into Lyndhurst. Lovely staff and the room was clean. However, I do not like a shower curtain and the shower water pressure could do with a boost. We thought £16.50 was a bit steep for breakfast so went to a local cafe instead.

Lovely pool that our 3 years old loved! Excellent service making us to fell very welcome.

The staff were great but a few things not available eg red wine and draft beer. Room a little tired and very warm even with the window wide open and no heating on. Enjoyed the stay as the forest is only a few steps from the door. Would stay again and hope the niggles are straightened out.

Lovely quiet hotel with friendly staff and a lovely pool, which our 4 year old really enjoyed. So nice for us at a family not being restricted to certain times to use the pool too. Great location for visiting lots of fabuloys places in the area & less than a 15 min drive to Peppa Pig World.

Lady on reception was excellent, friendly and efficient. Room was quite a good size and bed comfortable. We had water and tea making facilities but there wasn't enough toiletries for two people. Also bedside tables needed a deep clean. Our door also didnt close we had to pull it which then made a loud bang. We also heard several other doors banging loudly. Good location to walk into town and visit New Forest.

Hi, We stayed at this hotel for one night prior to going on a cruise from Southampton and being midlanders we wanted to do the lion share of the journey the day before departure so we choose this reasonably priced hotel. We had a family room which catered for 2 adults and 2 kids (11 & 9). Room ws fine. Clean and ample size. The kids beds are bunks tucked nearly in the corner. We didnt wat in the hotel or book breakfast as we were checked out early the next morning but we did eat tea at the 2 minute walk Waterloo Inn (decent pub grub). Upon our return from food we went in the pool. This is fine but there was nowhere for parents/guardians to sit and watch the kids should they not want to get wet. Seating innthe pool.area could be better. As could a repair job on the sauna and shower. All in all though this was a pleasant night stay with friendly staff and convenient to Southampton docks (20 mins)..

Great welcome and service from all staff. Breakfast was lovely. Location perfect for Forest and lyndhurst. Will stay again. Very dog friendly.

The hotel itself it’s nice and comfortable. Close enough to new forest show and lyndhurst is a great town.however I think we were placed in the smallest room and the hottest room. I know it was a hot few days but the fans provided were old and not good enough and the room was just too hot. We didn’t sleep properly for 3 nights which is a shame. The bed was a very small Double and one of us had to sleep On the floor because it was just too small for 2 adults . I normally stay here a lot throughout the year but not sure if I will again.

Great place to stay and very friendly staff. We did have to wait to be allowed into rhe breakfast room even though we booked it, but not the biggest deal.

Hotel is nice but would say it was 4/5 star - rooms were nice and clean and had everything you needed! Pool was quiet but not that warm. Sauna was out of order. Food was bland and service wasn't great. It's expensive for food and drink and not worth the price - we also didn't realise gratuity was automatically added and so paid over £20 in tip for a meal for 2 adults and 2 children (we are in the bar so wasn't table service). Our key stopped working when we returned from food and it took over 30 minutes to find someone to rectify the issue which wasn't great with 2 small tired children.

Michele the receptionist was fab, pool was lovely, grounds were nice, and super close to Poultons Park! Will be back.

Stayed for one night as a little stop over on way to Cornwall with our young Labrador. The hotel is really lovely and super dog friendly with welcome treats and a little pup pack of goodies in the room. The staff made such a fuss of Zoey dog. Really lovely people. We took a 5 minute stroll into the village for a walk and dinner at a pub. The location is perfect. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the bar terrace but there were no noise issues. Next morning I took advantage of the hotel pool for 30 mins which I had all to myself. Breakfast was delicious!

Massively understaffed. Waited 20 mins at front desk for because the person manning the bar was having to do everything. Kitchen closed at 8:30pm despite advertising 24h room service, presumably due to staff shortages again. They need a maintenance person on staff to take care of damaged walls, broken extractor fans, dodgy lightbulbs etc. Lots of little issues that detract from an otherwise pleasant property.
