Room: My suite was spotless and smelled fresh. The bathroom was very clean, and the bed was big, comfortable, and felt genuinely clean. I appreciated the in-room kitchen setup—dishes, cups, silverware/flatware, and even a dishwasher—plus the overall space was generous and well laid out. Property & hallways: The hallways are clearly renovated: new carpet, fresh paint, and a clean scent throughout. Outside, the first impression isn’t as strong. Because the property was recently purchased and is under renovation, there were bits of debris and a few buckets/odds-and-ends around that detracted from curb appeal. Staff: Everyone I interacted with was friendly and accommodating. Lobby/arrival experience: The “lobby” area didn’t feel welcoming. A large plastic partition separates the front desk from guests—while I understand the intent, it gives a cold, makeshift vibe. Removing it (or replacing it with something more refined) would go a long way. Housekeeping policy: There’s no housekeeping unless you stay more than a week, and you can’t request it sooner. To swap linens, you have to carry your used towels/sheets through the hallways and drop them off to receive new ones. For a hotel with such nice rooms and hallways, this process feels out of place and a bit cheap. Value: Pricing was reasonable for what you get in-room. Bottom line: I loved the cleanliness, space, and in-room amenities, and the staff were great. However, the lobby vibe and the no-daily-housekeeping policy are drawbacks. Personally, I’d spend about $10 more per day elsewhere to have daily housekeeping and avoid hauling towels/linens myself. If Sonesta refines the lobby experience and updates the housekeeping approach, this could be an easy first choice in Hoover.

A great locations

This property exceeded expectations with its prime location, making it easy to get where I needed to go as well as having great proximity to places to shop and eat. The staff were friendly and always eager to help. Cleanliness exceeded expectations. The accomodations had everything needed for a pleasant stay. I feel the the cost was a great value and will seek to stay here in the future.
