The inn was old. The carpet looked grimy. The mattress had some kind of plastic cover on do it make crackling noise when we moved and it was hot to sleep on!

An absolutely fabulous oasis after a long day of business, health treatments or simply exploring Portland's dynamic harbor. There are several great cafes within walking distance on a warm day and the primary foodie area is only a 5 minute drive away. The staff is absolutely fantastic--helpful, responsive and always smiling (a very rare and valued treasure!). Parking is FREE and right behind the hotel. There is 24-hour coffee, tea and hot coco available in the lobby. The historic building has its quirks but is SUCH a refreshing change to the usual Marriotts, Hiltons and IHGs of the world! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You won't go wrong here... P.S. If you have mobility/stair issues you may wish to request a ground floor room as there is no elevator.

It was wonderful to return late afternoon and evening to coffee, teas and fresh cookies! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are cleaned impeccably. We were the only ones using our bathroom down the hall and it had all necessary amenities. There was a microwave, table and two chairs in the room. Free parking is located directly behind the hotel. The best value in Portland ME!
