This superb hotel is perched on the top of a hill near the town centre. The views are tremendous over the port and out to sea. It was our first stay here but when we arrived in the evening we were greeted warmly by a porter who heled with our cases and a charming lady on Reception. To our surprise and pleasure the lady gave us a free upgrade to their best room, the Grand Suite. The suite was magnificent. We could not believe our luck. The rooms were huge, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished and there were two balconies facing different directions and looking out over the city of Heraklion and over the port. Breakfast was very pleasant with a wide variety of Greek food, including a whole honey comb draining into a dish We ate inside but looking into the courtyard

Good location, very friendly staff, rooms were clean (but very small, hard to move, same with the toilet), breakfast was good with a lot of options (but the space was limited and gets crowded/noisy) - overall everything was good, but I had higher expectations from a five-star hotel in terms of room (didn’t have some basics like toothbrush and toothpaste) and space as well

Most staff were friendly, but I had an issue getting an invoice for my workplace. Because I booked through Agoda, the hotel refused to issue a full invoice even after an hour of disputes, providing only a tax-payment invoice. This was very disappointing. Additionally, the pools were closed and the gym was very basic. As a business traveler who enjoys swimming, I felt regretting to book it specially it is an expensive.
