    The only thing 'grand' about Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera is its name! I realised my mistake of booking it as soon as I approached its entrance on a footpath. The signboards in front of the hotel only mention 'HOTEL' and not its full grand (!) name. After seeing the signboard itself I realised that it is a third class hotel. After entering the very small reception area I approached the front desk but the man there was talking on the phone and kept talking for the next 5-6 minutes without even acknowledging my presence though I stood right in front of the counter. After he finished the call, he attended to me in an unsmiling and gruff manner. I had booked the hotel through Agoda and requested a room with twin beds but the man said that he had received my booking from *** and it didn't mention my request for twin beds. After receiving our room card we entered the elevator (there is only 1) which was so small that my wife and I found difficult to squeeze in with our 2 small bags. The room was terribly cramped with a very small bed. The bathroom was as small as a telephone booth with a WC and a shower and miniature wash basin sharing the same space. The most dangerous and unsafe thing I found in the hotel is its very narrow corridors with many rooms arranged haphazardly. If there is a fire or other calamity, guests will not be able to escape quickly. The only positive thing I found in this third rate hotel is that there is a bus stop right in front of it. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
