Absolutely great spot. We were right in the main building with a very quaint and comfortable room. Historic style blended with convenience. Sitting on the porch with a drink in the middle of town, which is right outside your front door, was just one perk. Staff was great. Very clean. As long as they have a room available, we won’t stay anywhere else.

Spacious accommodations in a great location, but there were significant flaws. The carpet in our room was wet...not just damp! Everytime we stepped on the rug, our feet were wet. Front desk said carpets hold moisture due to the high humidity, or else cleaning staff must have just shampooed the rug. I would suggest the latter, and there is no way they should have been renting this room with carpeting that was essentially sopping wet and promoting fungal infections of the feet. Not hygenic! No room change or rate reduction were offered.
Breakfast would have been nice, and we were looking forward to it. But when we arrived at the restaurant, we were told by the waitress that she could not accommodate our small party and have breakfast to us in less than 1 hr, because she had 2 parties of 7 to deal with. She stated that she was the lone waitstaff. We left, and enjoyed breakfast at a local bakery, instead.
This is a nice property. Make no mistake, but for the price we paid, we shouldn't have had to deal with sopping wet feet or risk Athlete's foot. We should also have been able to get breakfast the next morning in an hour or less, given our very small group.
