Delamar was great! First time to Traverse City, first time to Michigan. Walkable to downtown. Hotel shuttle is very nice option--best to schedule rides to ensure availability, but they will take you to and from the airport and anywhere downtown. We also took a couple of uber/lyft rides, which were reasonable and easy. We had a 3 night stay, and had an issue with our room the first night. The hotel staff was very accommodating and moved us to another room, which was great. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is unique in that it is right on the lake, I mean like water hitting the retaining wall at the edge of the property, so there are really cool views from many vantage points. The lobby area is very comfortable, has a huge fire place burning all the time (gas), and a nice lake view. You can have a glass of sparkling or hot cider all evening. Big free parking lot if you drive. There is a cafe/coffee shop with coffee/espresso drink options, as well as food, which was good. We did not dine at the restaurant on the property, but it looked nice. We enjoyed our stay, and glad we booked the Delamar for our trip.

The Delamar Traverse City was a wonderful surprise. I had never visited Traverse City and was finishing a month-long work trip. I wanted a place to relax, and this was perfect! The hotel, staff, restaurant, and room all went beyond my expectations. I plan to return with my husband. This is one of my top ten hotels, and I’ve been to many all over the world. The vibe was great! It was just what I needed. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Nice hotel with a beautiful view. They’ve re-done the inside as it used to be a Holiday Inn. I think the price is more expensive than it’s worth. I would stay here again; however, I would be mindful of the price.

Once I discovered this was the old Holiday Inn building I already had bad vibes. Room would never get cool, felt like a sauna. Staff seemed kind of clueless. There was a homeless man on drugs approaching me in the parking lot blowing kisses and blowing smoke in our face. He was wandering the hotel. We told the front desk but not sure anything was done. Would not stay here in the future. Was under the impression this was more of a luxury hotel not worth the $750 for two nights here, next time I will stick to air bnb.
