I spent hours and hours looking at dozens of hotels before deciding on Hotel Burbank. The photos of the grounds, pool and rooms sold us. Reality? This is an extremely dated property in desperate need of renovation. The staff are warm and welcoming and the location and neighborhood are great, but the positives end there. Hallways and rooms are dark and dated. Photos make it look like a resort property with extensive grounds—don’t be fooled. The lovely pics of the gazebo and pond are in reality an extremely small and hard to access area, and the “pool” is laughable. Horribly ugly—think 1970’s *** parking lot pool. Popcorn ceilings in the rooms, no USB ports, all outlets are wobbly and won’t hold a plug or charge a device. TVs are decades old…forget about logging into Netflix or anything streamed if you have kids to entertain, and no option to screencast from one of your own devices. Just old school channel changing. Not enough towels provided for the number of people in the room; the bathroom fan is the same switch as the light and is so loud it wakes up the entire room if you have to use it during the night. And if you’re someone who puts on makeup? Don’t get me started on the horrific lighting. Also, housekeeping isn’t included unless you make a special request, and the “gym” for hundreds of rooms consists of one treadmill, one elliptical and 2 peloton bikes (these are actually great if they are not in use). However when I went this morning, expecting to fill my empty water bottle for a Peloton spin class, there was no water in the gym. Also, our keys repeatedly keep de-activating so we have to keep going back to the lobby to get new ones. Overall, I expected much more for ***. Very disappointed and won’t stay here again.

The location is so good for so many reasons: proximity to the airport and Hollywood and Universal Studios and Griffith Park and more. Parking is available, off-street. Nice cafe and dinner /bar with happy hour. Friendly, efficient staff. Clean rooms.
