We loved the traditional old Japanese building in the beautiful town of Ikuno. Complete equipped kitchen, big spaces, tatami rooms, garden, great location to explore the town by foot or drive to locations in the area, convenient parking, just an awesome experience all in all!

Staying at a historical museum was very exciting. There is a small single private onsen bath, which was cute and relaxing. We liked Ikuno town and the mines. It was a very unique experience. I highly recommend it for experiencing rural Japan and history.
Sleeping on a real futons is hard on older bodies. I should have asked for another layer of mattress.
