Wonderful room and terrace, neighbor’s rice field. Enjoy the nature sounds, in which still close to UBUD.
"Just a heads up regarding the tour with the owner’s uncle. If you're okay with his plan and the cost, go for it. But be careful not to get talked into things

I return to Umah Nik Kepiti every year, either upon my arrival in Indonesia or just before my departure. I have been a returning guest for many years now, for one very simple reason: this place feels like home.
Umah Nik Kepiti is clean, cozy, warm, and genuinely friendly. It is located just outside Ubud, right in the middle of the rice fields, surrounded by lush tropical nature. You stay with a family who makes you feel like part of their home from the very first moment. I truly feel like a family member here.
I am always so happy and at peace when I stay here that I honestly have nothing new to add anymore ; just read all my previous reviews and you will understand: you will be staying in paradise in Bali.
The people are incredibly kind, attentive, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Food is prepared exactly the way you want it - à la carte, personal, and with care. Everything is possible, everything can be arranged, and everything is done with a smile. I always feel completely welcome.
I usually arrange everything at once: airport pickup, airport drop-off, breakfast, motorbike rental, and my room; all in one place, all in one hand. It is a true gift to be picked up at the airport while I am tired and jetlagged, and it is always a bittersweet moment when they bring me back; because that means my time in Indonesia has come to an end again!
I can only wholeheartedly recommend this place. Book it yourself and enjoy it as much as I always do. You get the people, the care, and everything you need included.
Pure Indonesian hospitality, with plenty of privacy — and help whenever you ask for it.
A truly wonderful place to stay.

✅ Peaceful location surrounded by rice fields (~7 km north of Ubud)
✅ Kind & welcoming family-hosts & neighbourhood
✅ Very clean room (#4) & bathroom. Strong A/C & great shower pressure
✅ Excellent Wi-Fi (perfect for work/streaming)
✅ Lovely balcony for breakfast, reading or relaxing
✅ Delicious fruit breakfasts + only 10min walk to Kenran Resort for vegan dinners & infinity pool
✅ Laundry service 12k/kg – clothes fresh, folded & ironed
✅ Fresh towels provided often & sheets changed mid-stay
✅ Invited to try a traditional Balinese drink made from palm leaves plus join a local community dinner - wonderful cultural experiences
Thanks to Mr Nyoman Polos & his family. I throughly loved my 1-week stay at “Umah Nik” (house of Nik)
🤔 Walls are quite thin: best to use headphones at night
🐓Roosters crow early & there’s daytime chanting (didn’t bother me but worth noting)
🚬 Occasional wafts of smoke drifting up to balcony
🐜 Little visitors (but hey - I was in the jungle and left my doors open )

The host Mr. Umah, his wife and staff are very friendly and supporting the guests in any questions. The breakfasts and lunch was realy tasty and healthy. The rooms are clean and have everything what you as a guest are realy need in your vacation. We discover the region with support and advice of the host. He drives us arround and we did with his support the purification ceremonie in fantastic temple in the jungle, visited a coffee plantation, waterfall and rice plantation. The hostel owner also drove us to the harbour and helped ud to buy tickets for a fast and comfortable ferry to Lombok. We felt like we were among a family. Wonderful. responsive and open people. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such a warm welcome. We will back again,

The photos in the profile.
The family compound and the atmosphere did not match the reviews.
One member of the family, who spoke little English, seemed to have the sole responsibility for guest liaison. The rest of the family were unwelcoming.
This atmosphere was different to reviews I read ( which is why I chose homestay) that I thought perhaps new people may have taken over. Or otherwise the novelty for them had just worn off and all that remained was transactional.
There was no water to my room for showers on arrival, care to ensure access to safe drinking was inconsistent and the location so far away that transport operators refused provide transport services. Overall the room looks pretty in the photos but I cannot recommend this Homestay.

It’s a very quiete place, away from the rush of the Ubud center. Has a beautiful rice field view in the wood house. We love the place and the people here. Everybody is too kind, and always smiling. The best part is that there are few rooms and plenty of space for guests. We want to visit this place again.
Because it is located in the middle of nature, in rice fields, you may encounter small wild animals and insects. This did not bother us, but it is worth mentioning.

This is a perfect place to stay: the room is really nice, comfy and tidy. The host and staff are very hospitable and welcoming. The place is calm but close to the Center of Ubud

Clean and spacious. It’s actually beautiful but so loud of nonstop hordes of roosters clucking for 18 hours out of the day!
The loud roosters from other properties! The property should supply ear plugs

The Staff, the family, the personal attention the bed the room the location and every wish is possible! This is for me a start or an end of my Indonesia holiday, and I keep coming back for only one reason; it is super great, very quite in the rice fields and an car transportation can always be arranged to the Airport and or pick up from the Airport. It's a great place to stay! I always hate to leave, because then my trip in Indonesia is ad well over! But I will come back again! Please experience the same as me and book with them!

That's soooooo good! Comfy and cute room, stylish design, friendly family who owned the place. Tasty food. Beautiful garden, sweet village vibes. Absolutely amazing rice fields near the place, good for walking. We've enjoyed every moment of staying there. Thank you very much, wish you be wealthy and healthy 🪄✨🍀❤️🔥

Family were lovely, home was nicely hidden away between ubud and Tegallalang. Cute village.
Breakfast and food very nice, but grab and Gojek drivers were happy to deliver other food there if needed.
Room was clean, bedsheets were nice. Aircon worked very well, bathroom was very clean.
Ants get into the room a lot, gekko poo dropped from the bamboo ceiling onto the floor and bed a lot.
5am wake-up by the neighbors cockerels and nearby temple is inevitable. It's kind of nice and feels very authentic, but there's no avoiding it.
All things the family can't really do anything to sort.

The room was amazing. Clean, tidy and the view from the balcony is super beatiful
The owners are really wonderful people, always smily

Highly recommend. The rooms are big and beautifully decorated and the bed was huge and very comfy. I was soooo comfortable here ☺. The family is really nice and welcoming and they invited me to a family ceremony, which was so special.
The garden is just beautiful. Felt really at ease staying here. It is also easy to get an online ride into Ubud, and the family rents scooters too 😊.
Nothing, it was a brilliant stay! I would have extended longer if they weren't booked out.

loved the decorations and the beautiful family and experience we had going to temple and Balinese ceremony with them

Highly DO NOT recommend this place, even for one night, if you want to relax in silence and have a good night's sleep. All night long roosters will crow, dogs will howl, and at 5 in the morning prayer will be turned on in the temple.
And after complaining to the manager Nick that he didn’t warn about this in advance before paying, he will tell you to get out of the room at 8 in the morning, although you paid, and go to your country, because all tourists are disgusting and crazy. Or pay him 15 mln Rp then he will give you proper service. I have not seen such rudeness in Bali for a 7 years.
By the way, his family, very friendly and hospitable, they apologized and returned the money, but I did not take them, as I somehow tried to spend the night there. But I won't be back.

More than a homestay is a boutique hotel.
Large room and bathroom, tastefully decorated, clean with air conditioning, wifi, and very large and comfortable beds. Outside a patio where you can enjoy breakfast or a cup of tea or coffee (there's a kettle and a small supply in the room). But what gives added value to the structure is the warmth and welcome of the family who made us feel at home. Both the owner and his daughter are welcoming and helpful in introducing you to Balinese culture and traditions, plus excellent cooks( you have to try their home cooking).
We ask to have a cooking class and we cooked dinner together. They also prepared the Balinese breakfast which I absolutely recommend to try.
Ubud center is 15 minutes away by scooter which you can rent from them.
We would have liked to extend our stay but unfortunately they were full.
highly recommend it

There is so much to say about this property, the family who runs it are the kindest most generous people. We were supposed to only stay 2 nights but decided to stay 2 more. During our stay, they invited us to a village celebration and provided traditional clothing for us and the following day they took us to the market and showed us how to cook Balinese food. The room itself is one of the best rooms we stayed at during our 2 months trip, spacious and extremely clean. The bed and pillows are so comfortable , and the sheets and towels provided are very very good quality. This place has nothing to envy to a resort but with the homely feel of a guesthouse. Also they have the cutest puppy on site and an old, very well behaved cat that visited us everyday and even slept in the room with us sometime.

In this place we had a real balinease experience. The family of Inyoman it's wonderfull and he teaches you a lot of things, like how to put offerings, how to pray and much more. Everyone is smiling here and treat you like part of family.
We definitely recomand this place if you are a person in search for good energy.

Very friendly, clean, nice room with good view into the garden. When I arrived, there was a huge rain shower for the rest of the day that I could watch very relaxing from your bed. That was nice.
Since it is very rural, there was a cock that loved to start waking up people at 5 am. Consider that if you would like to get a good night rest.
Moreover, since it is a bit away from Ubud, best is to have a moto. Otherwise, Grab also works quite good

If you’d like to escape touristic places and experience life with (or even in) Balinese family I’d be happy recommend Pak Ketut’ guest house. Nestled in Gianyar region (20 min from Ubud center).
Pak Ketut is a very generous man and could help with everything you need. Ibu Ani (his daughter) is a real heart of the all compound and will be your angel cooking breakfast and asking if you need any help.
We spent amazing 3 nights in authentic joglo style specious wooden room. With a big fan which was necessary in midday, at night it was quite chilly even without fan. Big bed, hot shower and beautiful view from the window.
I’ll definitely be back.

It’s kind of traditional look of a house..
Clean. Smells good. Linens were fresh!
No TV, no AC, but feel free and really enjoy to stay there..
Nature’s sounds of Baliness.
A very WARMTH and GENUIN hospitality from the families..

Beautiful homestay newly built, very well appointed rooms more to the standard of a boutique hotel, lovely quiet rural location, very friendly and welcoming hosts, a great insight into traditional Balinese way of life, highly recommend.
