Loch Ness Lochside Hostel - Over 16s Only

Quirky functional clean amazing situation

Notice it is on a busy road in “middle of nowhere “. Coming by bicycle on the A road is hairy and not really recommended. If using the forest track of Great Glen way you will have a big drop to get to the Hostel and a big climb to get back up the next day. The bus stop outside the door gives extra possibilities!

Such a brilliant hostel, so many nice little touches, and an idyllic location.

£39 for one bed, 10-15 years a go Scottish hostels were £16, that’s crazy inflation.

Clean, lovely showers, right next to Loch Ness, easy to find, friendly staff, plenty of space in the kitchen with a wide range of communal necessities to use.

The shower rooms are entirely just showers, you really can’t take much in there with you at all and you have to be careful to keep it hung up to keep it dry

We have stayed here a few times and loved it, this time was still a nice vibe and views are shading comfy clean

Unfortunately I have to say it was still amazing but the staff outnumbered the guests and in evening we couldn’t sit by the fire or cook when we wanted to but we don’t stress about that but when next day staff all congregate and as a guest you are excluded from the fire area maybe just due to end of season but wasn’t same as before. Rob was lovely and considerate but not sure he noticed all the staff taking over the whole living area. I still like the vibe of this place and different people every year so would still return as comfy beds and good facilities,
