Au sable fin

Au sable fin is a lovely house, good location close to the waterfront and local amenities like a lovely brasserie and a boulangerie etc, minutes walk from the bus stop that runs a free shuttle over to gravelines. Hosts were great, left us to it but let us know they were available if anything needed, timely communication. Plenty of room for our party of 3 adults and 2 older teenagers. Fresh bedding and towels.

What au sable fin needs is some love, I realise it is a holiday home but little tweaks would make a massive difference. There is a very bad damp/mould problem in the downstairs bathroom making it unpleasant with the door closed. The master bedroom mattress is very very soft and the shower does not drain very well at all. All very minor things that if fixed would make this a super little place, just right now its missing a little love.

La maison est bien équipée dans une rue calme. Mais il n'y a pas une grosse activité de ce côté. Il faut aller sur Graveline.

Le micron onde n'etait pas propre. Il y avait des miettes dans l'armoire de vaisselle et sur le canapé. Nous avons trouvé des poils et des cheveux sur le canapé et dans les lits. Nous avons passé notre 1ère soirée au lavomatique à nos frais, les propriétaires n'étant pas sur place pour venir nous changer les draps. De la poussière aux toilettes sur les plinthes radiateurs et étagères et une odeur désagréable . Nous n'avons pas utiliser la climatisation du salon. La propreté du module n'en donne pas envie.

Well equipped, and good communication with the host. He was responsive and came to check/clarify some issues with the A.C (see comment below)

Air Conditioning: One of the reasons I chose this property was because air conditioning was listed as an available amenity. However, this is not entirely accurate. There is only one A/C unit downstairs, and it cannot be left running continuously because the drainage hose (which is open) goes into the bathroom and requires a small bowl to be emptied regularly to collect the water. The upstairs area (where the rooms are) became very hot, and there were no fans in the bedrooms. I think air conditioning description should be clarified so that future guests know what to expect and some fans in the rooms will be great.
