Various activities can be organised here including yoga on the beach and fishing trips to catch your own fish or mussels. Plus, you can explore the area through hiking and bicycle rides, taking in the forests and flowery meadows. Head to Brouwersdam, an estuary that separates the biggest saltwater lake in Europe from the North Sea – a six-minute drive away – and take in the unique flora and fauna on offer here including, Fjord horse and Heck cattle. You might even catch a glimpse of seals or porpoises. In the evening, why not cook up the fresh fish you caught earlier that day and dine alfresco with views of the beachfront?
