When the sea finally lures you in, you can be there in no time for sandcastle building, kite flying, and picnics. But Eastern Jutland is so much more than its fine beaches. Dive right into the great outdoors, exploring lush green valleys, deep ravines, and fjords aplenty with guided walks and ferry trips close by. Jump in the car for a mooch about neighbouring Horsens, with its colourful harbour (nineteen-minute drive) and views of its mighty fiord. Or, for something a little buzzier, the happening restaurants, art museums, and old town of Denmark's second-biggest city, Aarhus (one hour drive), is an afternoon well spent.
