Centrally located. Great breakfast. Owners went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. They even prepared a breakfast “to go” the day we went to Rainbow mountain since we were going to leave super early. I would definitely go back!

The Staff were incredible. So friendly and accommodating. I loved my bedroom, the tv and the ease at which I was able to access my Netflix account. the bedding was warm and I was so comfortable. I loved that there was a microwave so I could heat up my food and coffee. the morning breakfast was delicious and the fruit salads were divine! coffee - out of this world!

there's not much that I didnt like. everything was of great standard and quality. It was the only hotel that I stayed in during my entire 3 week stay in cusco.

The women who work at El Ave Azur are warm, friendly, and genuinely try their best to make your stay comfortable. The location is great, and the room was pleasantly warm — which is worth noting.

That said, my stay here was unfortunately very uncomfortable, and I feel it’s important to share a more balanced view, especially given the very high rating this hotel has on Booking.com. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I wish I had known some of these things before booking. First and foremost, the noise level is a serious issue. Whenever someone takes a shower in the building, a loud humming noise echoes throughout — even in the middle of the night. On top of that, loud flute music plays at the reception and is audible from the rooms. The sound insulation is poor to non-existent. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing — from talking to using the bathroom. There’s also a permanent window above the room door with no curtain, so every time someone turns on the hallway light at night, your entire room lights up. This happens frequently and made it very hard to sleep. A similar problem exists in the bathroom, where a large open vent allows light from neighboring bathrooms to shine in. This vent also let’s through all the smells that the neighbors produce in their bathrooms, which is really unwelcome as you can imagine. Hot water also seems to be limited during peak hours. Out of my six nights, I only managed one warm shower. That was extremely frustrating. When I mentioned this, they told me that I should shower in the afternoon if I want warm water. That is easier said than done. Breakfast was inconsistent. On my first morning, the bread was stale, although it improved slightly on subsequent days. Finally, and most frustrating for me as a business traveler, I requested an invoice multiple times during my stay and still haven’t received it. Every time I asked, I was told, “I’ll ask my boss,” but nothing was ever sent. This lack of follow-up has created complications for my work expenses and should really be addressed. Again, I truly believe the staff are doing their best, but the overall experience fell far short of what I expected.
