Beach Accesses for ALL Prominence homes are via South Walton public beach access points. Most Prominence guests utilize Deer Lake State Park beach access or other nearby public beach accesses. Prominence homes do not have direct beach access via Watersound Club nor do they have access to Watersound private club facilities.
INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom & one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.
E-Checks are accepted for advance reservations at no additional charge (15 days prior to check in). All credit card payments will incur a 3.5% convenience fee.

Pool was nice - but I don’t think this property could see the beach.

We also had some confusion regarding the location and thought it was across the street at Watersound with access to the private beach. Access to the public beaches was anything but easy with limited or no parking available.
The nightly rate was more than reasonable, but with all of the fees it ended up being double the published rate.
The golf cart, "Greased Lightening", was anything but fast. We topped out at 13 miles an hour which didn't allow us to drive it on the roads and the charge barely got us to the closest beach access and back. The cart rules are also unrealistic with "no driving after dark"? Daylight savings time precluded us from taking the cart to dinner or the Big Chill. The cart is tired and needs a serious refresh.
Listing that chairs are also provided would have been helpful. We called and were told there was no guarantee, so we brought out own and they took up a lot of roon in the car. And finally, providing a few beach towels and coat hangers in the closet would be nice.
Overall, the home was comfortable. We made it work and had a nice time.

Positives: Unit was clean, nicely furnished, convenient to The Hub. The free round of golf was great. Recommend Windswept Dunes. Appliances were nice. Enjoyed the pool. Just a couple negatives. Garage door opener didn’t work, golf cart was a bit raggedy, garage smelled of cat urine. But overall we enjoyed it.

The home had everything we needed to feel right at home. Panhandle Getaways was amazing! Always attentive to our needs, no matter the time of day! Great location as well! We plan to make this spot a regular vacation getaway.
