Guests enter Sea Sponge by taking the exterior stairs from the driveway to the front porch of this elevated home. The foyer leads you to a guest bedroom & bathroom, the stairwell to the second floor and the dining room, kitchen and living room. There is a screened porch off of the living room. On the second floor, you'll find the home's master bedroom (with en suite bathroom & a balcony overlooking the ocean) and two of the home's guest bedrooms (each with their own en suite bathroom).
Please note the fireplaces are not operational and there is no cable TV in this home.

There will be construction traffic and noise in the immediate area of any work site. Check the City site for more details.

We really loved Sea Sponge for our trip! We were two families with two kids each (4 kids under 4)! The location of the house was great - pool and beach access were incredible and so close to the house. The views were breathtaking with some of the most beautiful South Carolina sunsets. The house decor was comfortable and things felt updated. The screened-in porch off the main living area so we could enjoy outside and the kids could play was such a lovely experience.
With all of that said, there were some things that really need improvement. There are large horizontal windows in all of the bedrooms that do not have shutters/shades/curtains and, of course, the light shines so brightly you can not sleep. It's also very disruptive when you have children sleeping. The two other things that would improve the house - the upstairs AC unit is a little funky and the main primary and the middle room are *ice* cold while the second primary is boiling. Since most families will want to rent a golf cart and there is only space for two cars in the driveway, it would be nice for them to give you the garage clicker so that you can more easily pull the golf cart into the garage. Lastly, the kitchen tools are very used - it'd be great to get a few newer/nicer non-stick skillets and some wine glasses.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would absolutely rent Sea Sponge again. Kudos to an amazing experience!

Guests cannot use the fireplace, so that is misleading. Property is beautiful and comfortable. Extra beach equipment is ok, except the two bicycles had flat tires. The only real negative for us was the daily, including the weekend, saws and other noise (loud radio) from an adjacent high rise being refurbished, starting around 7:30 am and continuing all afternoon.
