About this cabin rental

This is a three bedroom / two bath LUXURY log cabin located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country and Frio Canyon, right on the banks of the Frio River. It is on the banks of the beautiful Frio River among the century old Cypress Trees. We believe we offer a unique Texas Hill Country experience in the quiet, secluded surroundings along the Frio River.

Each 2200 sq. ft. luxury log cabin has a native Limestone rock fireplace with a mantel made of Cypress wood from a tree which was on the property. The Spruce logs and exposed beams were shipped over 2500 miles from British Columbia, Canada. The Aspen which was used for the walls and cabinets is from Colorado. Maximum sleeping accommodations are for 10 people. The 3 bedrooms consist of one king, one queen, one with bunk beds and a twin with trundle. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the great room. We provide all bed linens and bath towels. Please bring your own river towels

Our family absolutely loved our stay. The house is adorable and had everything we needed. The river was the perfect spot to spend all day. We had kids ages 2, 8, and 13 and everyone had a blast. The water level behind the property was perfect for our 2 year old and for the adults to sit in. Just up and down the river, we found some deeper holes for swimming. The kayaks were a huge hit! This is an all around great property and we hope to be back one day!

We had such an amazing time! The river is low, but this is a great place to park your chairs in the river and relax! The kayaks were so fun for our boys to explore the river with! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed! We will be back!

This was the perfect place for the Douglas Family. It was private and on the water. Cabin was very nice and spacious. It had everything you could need eliminating any needs back into town. Best furnished stay I have ever been at. We WILL return.

The cabin is spacious and well-kept, perfect for our family and for all the activities we wanted to do. Tom is terrific and was so helpful - and we even met his goats! Next time we just hope it’s warmer outside so we can really enjoy the Frio River!

Large cabin on the Rio Frio with a lovely Bortle 4 sky that can be viewed from a nice clearing adjacent to the cabin. Perfect for astrophotography as well as the annular eclipse that we came to see. I envy the folks that will be observing the total eclipse from there next year.

We had a great time with the kids and grandkids. We loved the kayaks. They had more fun playing in the river. Had s'mores around the firepit and cooked out. Would love to come back in the future. The house is beautiful and well appointed.

We LOVE the location of this cabin. Just a few steps to walk directly down to the river. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and the adults to relax. The river is still low but our kids are young so it worked just fine. The water was clear right near our cabin entry. We enjoyed going up the river one day and then exploring down the river (much deeper) another day. The kayaks provided were also fun! This is our second year booking and we will return for sure.

2 families - 4 adults and total 6 kids ages 2-8. Plenty of space in the house and the river is kid friendly. Really shallow spots for the small ones and older kids could go down river for the deeper water. Caught some catfish as well. Would stay here again and would recommend!

It was such an amazing time the river was a bit shallow but still enjoyable we we’re able to use our tubes and flow the small rapid just fine the kids had a blast communication was easy the cabin smelled and looked wonderful and had all the essentials, totally recommend this spot we will be back !!

We loved this house for our 3 families this summer. The house was clean, stocked with everything we needed (pans, dishes, utensils, towels, etc). Nice area to the side for fires in the evening watching the fire flies and deer across the field. The best part was that since we had younger kids, the water area was nice and shallow, allowing them to play and not have any worries. The older kids and adults were able to canoe down into the deeper end. Nice and relaxing, highly recommend!

We had a relaxing time at the property. The cabin had activities for the whole family (age 12-75).Inspite of the river being low, we had enough water at the backside of the property to relax and kayak. Will be nice to have some slopes or ladder points for river access for elderly. Highly recommend this property

The house was perfect, nice, clean, well stocked with things I wouldn't even have thought they would have. I just happened to forget my lime juicer for margaritas and they had two! We were short on smore's roasting sticks, they had plenty. Everyone was impressed and would love to go back. Being so close to the water with an amazing front, back and side yard was so wonderful!

Two families of five stayed here for two nights and had a great time. Very private river access with a rocky beach that was very convenient. Excellently stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, also got use out of both the barbeque and fire pit both nights. Everyone immediately wished we'd booked three nights instead of two! We absolutely loved our stay at Cypress Banks Cabin #2. The cabin was well manicured and maintained. Very clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect. Right on the water, 5 minutes from Leakey and 5 minutes from Garner State Park.

The cabin is absolutely perfect for two families traveling with children who want to getaway and relax, play in the water and explore nature! Even with the Texas drought, the water level was great for playing and sitting in tubes. The oldest child in the group was 6 and the youngest was 4 and they all had a blast, while us parents weren’t concerned about too deep of water or currents. A short walk up the river and they could swim in slightly deeper water. We cooked in often and found the kitchen to be well-stocked for our needs. The small town of Leakey is close enough for beer runs or to the mercantile shop and we ate out one night at Gypsy Sally’s…their tacos are so yummy!!! We will definitely be back!!

This was a great experience. It was nice not having to fight large crowds for water space and could quietly watch nature. You can see the water from the deck and there was enough water just to float or a small little rapid to enjoy. Many amenities came with this cabin. We already booked it again for next summer.

The only reason I gave it 4-star for cleanliness is the fact that it’s out in the country and with the recent pollen from Spring and the dusty dry weather we had to wipe down the outdoor chairs and table. Shower door in master bath was difficult to open; probably due to age. Kitchen well equipped. Utility room with washer and dryer worked well. Area quiet with privacy. I would definitely book this cabin again.

Lovely spacious cabin which was perfect for 4 adults and one 12 year old. Wish our other child and grandsons could have joined us. It would easily accommodate all of us. Great workable kitchen. Great access to the Frio River. Wish we had reservations in summer months.

We had a great time staying here. The cabin had plenty of room for our family of four. Everyone enjoyed the river, the cypress trees, and the lovely sunsets. Garner and Los Maples are close by for day trips. The host was very responsive when there was an internet issue (all fixed now). Looking forward to coming back when it's warm enough to swim!
