Charming house, huge private garden next to Lisbon, Meco, Sesimbra

We spent a wonderful week in this house, amidst a lovely, well-maintained garden. We were welcomed by Maria with fresh lemonade and pastries. There are many separate places for people to just sit and read but also 2 big tables, one inside, one outside to eat at or play games. The house stayed cool inside, even without AC. There were plenty of cutlery and plates for 7 people. In the interest of everyone getting the place they want and need, I must mention the stairs and upstairs. The stairs are very steep and narrow and the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs are only for children or very short adults. The ceilings are low and the shower is very small. The house is easily accessible because it's next to the road but there is some traffic noise at certain times of the day. All in all, we had a wonderful week - we were comfortable in the house and there were places to visit around. The only thing we did not appreciate was when we received a message saying the checkout time had been "updated" - from 11:00 to 10:00. I was told we could stay until 11:00 but the cleaning crew would arrive at 10:00. We changed our plans from a leisurely good-bye breakfast to a rather hasty departure. We felt as if the new renters were being given priority over us. All in all though, a 5-star stay.

We spent one week with 4 adults and 3 small children in Maria's house and had a wonderful time. The garden is well maintained and beautiful, and we we really enjoyed the outdoor areas with shade, seating and the pool. It was a perfectly safe space for the kids to roam around. The house pretty, cozy and super well equipped with anything you could need in the kitchen and even beach towels. It comes with the downsides of a charming old house like creaking doors and stuffy cupboards, which we did not mind much. The small upstairs bathroom and steep staircase - which were the only downsides for us - are supposed to see a makeover later on the year. Maria is a wonderful host who was very available via phone/whatsapp and had lots of recommendations in the local area for us.

Excellent stay in charming house near Sesimbra. There was nothing missing. Beaches nearby. Great garden and outside pool. The host Maria was making sure everything was in order and was very pleasent to deal with. Perfect house for a family.

We really enjoyed our stay, Maria João was great, she received us with herbal tea from her garden and pasteis de nata. Every time we needed anything she was quick to reply. The children's bedroom is upstairs and the stairs are a bit dangerous for smaller kids, the ceiling is slightly lower. The garden is stunning and the location couldn't be better. Is secluded enough to give you privacy and is 10 minutes drive from seafront and maybe 4 minutes from the supermarket.
