PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
Villa La Luciole is a stunning three-bedroom stone villa with private swimming pool and superb views across the Konavle Valley to the Adriatic Sea. The villa is located in the village of Dubravka – 3km from Gruda, 40km south of Dubrovnik and 15km from Cavtat, on the border with Montenegro. It is also just 15 minutes' drive from the Adriatic Sea. This scenic region is becoming popular for rural tourism and is often compared to Tuscany with its quiet surroundings, breathtaking landscapes, excellent restaurants offering local produce, and activities like horse riding, cycling, hiking and quad biking.
Villa La Luciole was completely renovated in 2015. The owners, both talented Croatian architects, have spent the last 4 years transforming the 18th century stone ruin into a beautiful casual elegant villa. The villa combines traditional rustic elements with contemporary pieces and up-to-date amenities. Inside, the use of light and space is exceptional and the décor encourages guests to relax.
Villa La Luciole has a privileged, private and quiet location in scenic surroundings with breathtaking views of the countryside, to the hills of Konavle and the Adriatic Sea, perfect for enjoying the sunshine and peaceful evenings. With its 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms, the villa can accommodate up to 8 people comfortably.
• Ground floor: There's a kitchen, spacious living area and a WC. The Villa has a well equipped kitchen with an adjoining dining area perfect for entertaining. There is a dining table and seating for 6 people, with an extension to accommodate 8. The living area is south-facing with vast sliding doors to the terrace and direct access to the pool and garden. The lounge features a library, two comfy sofas that can be used as extra beds, a TV and a stereo. Toys and games are available to make our young visitors feel at home.
• First floor: There are 3 beautifully decorated bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers. The main bedroom features a double bed, parquet floors, satellite TV, A/C, a wardrobe and chest of drawers. It also has an en-suite bathroom. The room has access to a large balcony with sun decks and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside and Adriatic Sea. There is one double bedroom and one twin-bed bedroom with parquet floor, A/C, a wardrobe, and breathtaking views.
• Outdoors: The covered terrace is equipped with an outdoor table and chairs and a dining table with seating for 8. It is the perfect spot to rejuvenate and rediscover the simple pleasures in life – a morning coffee, dinner al fresco or a glass of wine beneath the stars listening to the cicadas singing. There are also a few deckchairs available for sunbathing. In addition, you may use the private swimming pool to relaxing and revitalise. A rustic summer kitchen, outside dining and BBQ facilities are at your disposal should you wish to enjoy some of the finer culinary treats the region has to offer.
There is A/C throughout, under floor heating in the living area and bathrooms, and wireless internet and parking places available. The property has a billiard room where you can enjoy fun and memorable moments. Two adults bicycles and two kids bicycles are at your disposal to explore the surroundings.

Konavle is a great base from which to explore the region, including Montenegro, Cavtat, Dubrovnik UNESCO World Heritage Site and the beautiful Elafiti islands. A car is recommended if you plan to leave the villa.
The picturesque village of Gruda is only 3km away. It offers some delicious local restaurants and a grocery shop as well as a post office and pharmacy. There are regular food markets in the village.

This is a beautiful villa which has been very well finished and we really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating especially when we couldn't find the property in the dark. Beautiful views as you're up in the hills. Only downside was the pool was very cold, colder than the sea in fact!

What a beautiful home. and fabulous owners. House and yard was spotless. Plenty of utensils, crockery cutlery. etc. Excellent bedrooms with quality lines and great bathrooms with top quality towels. The privacy of the property was terrific. you could feel like you were the only people for miles and miles. Only downside was the pool was not very warm. Loved it and did not want to leave. Highly recommend.

Our accommodation was excellent and exactly as described.
Modern facilities in quiet rural setting, with great views, not far from Dubrovnik, the Croatian coast and the Montenegrin border.
Isabelle and Viktor made the booking and arrival process very easy!
