About this cabin rental
Family owned cabin since 1965 located in best area of the North Shore is now offered for rent for their first time! Steps to beautiful, level and private solid bedrock shoreline - walk out with your cup of coffee in the morning to the lake. Or a great place to picnic in the afternoon... Or enjoy a cocktail "on the rocks" in the evening. Or just sit on the deck and watch/listen to the waves crash on the ledge rock below (waves can be heard at night inside too providing calming bedtime music).
South Facing means sun all day! On quiet Cascade Beach Road which provides opportunity for long walks without noise and fear of traffic. Quick drive to nearby and spectacular Cascade River Falls and Temperance River Falls. 15 minute drive to Grand Marais; 10 minute drive to Lutsen resort, golf, and ski area. Turnaround parking for trailers. Architecturally pleasing stone fireplace and windows overlooking Lake Superior make the Great room a warm and inviting area to hang out, talk, read a book, or listen to music.
Loft has queen bed, the main level has a double bed and a twin, and a second twin is also on the main level.

The vintage cabin is the perfect and cozy North Shore getaway. A great location between Lutsen and Grand Marais. Very peaceful and private with a beautiful view of Lake Superior

We enjoyed our stay at Lichen Cabin. It was clean and had a surprising variety of kitchen utensils. The cabin was well appointed and had some fun decor surprises. There were only two small issues, which were the fire pit needed to have lots of brush cleaned out of it before use and the third bedroom Twin bed was very uncomfortable. Our host answered promptly to questions and was able to send someone to change a high up light bulb that had burnt out. It is a beautiful location right on Lake Superior and handy for exploring the North Shore. I would highly recommend!

Probably the most scenic view and ledge rock shore in the Cascade area - the large front deck and super comfortable deck chairs overlooking Lake Superior were just magnificent. However the road leading to the cottage is very steep and rutted. There is parking in an area above the cabin but the steps are extensive and not suitable to haul down suitcases and coolers. The loft has a queen bed but the stairs are really just a ladder with a railing - not suitable for anyone of an advanced age or any hip or knee issues. And bring your own fry pans

Cluttered mess at the best.
Just because it is a cabin, doesn't mean it needs to be filled to the brim with "stuff".
A 30 year old apartment refrigerator in the porch?
