About this villa rental
Casa dos Cães is 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa located in Vale de Milho and adjacent to a 9 hole golf course. The villa is set on a spacious plot with well established gardens, private outdoor swimming pool and a long driveway with an abundance of parking space.
The villa is bright, airy and has dual air-conditioning/heating units, working fireplace, wi-fi and an internet based TV service with UK channels.
Purpose-Built for wheelchair users, all doors are over 1 meter wide and there are specialist shower/bathrooms facilities - ideal for those with disabled or elderly travelers. There is also a hoist for the swimming pool.
A cot and highchair are available on request.
Centeanes beach is just a 15 minute walk away. It's a sheltered bay bordered by striking sandstone cliffs. Boat trips around the caves and grottos leave daily from the beach and it offers various other activities such as pedalo hire, kayak hire and more. Carvoeiro town centre with its many shops, bars and restaurants is just 3km away. During the summer months (June – September), a stage is erected next to the beach in the town square and live music is played every night.
N.B. A new development will start being built directly behind the villa in February 2022 and construction should last for 18 months. As a result there may be noise from heavy machinery and perhaps dust as well.
Tourist tax
Please note that on 13th April 2024 a new law was passed approving a new tourism tax (Taxa Municipal Turística de Lagoa). All guests aged 13 years and over are required to pay this tax. The amount is €2 per person per night during high season (April – October) and €1 per person per night during low season (November – March). There is a cap of 7 nights on the tax. Therefore for all reservations in excess of 7 nights, you still only pay the tax for 7.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa. Everything was pretty much perfect. The pool was definitely the highlight for our family and we achieved a good balance of relaxing there and getting out to Explore the local area. It was even possible to safely walk to the beach but a hot and hilly climb to get back, worth it though. Thank you to the TLC Team who did a great job too!

The Villa is all on one level including the Pool which stands it out from similar age and size in the area. Lots of space, excellent for families. Easy walking access to good amenities at Rocha Brava and Lighthouse restaurants. Simple short drive to excellent beaches. Faro airport about an hours drive on good roads. Plenty of good quality Supermarkets within 10 minutes drive and smaller ones in walking distance.

A traditional Villa for its age. On one level, with adaptation for disabled use which means some doors are wider. Easy access to the swimming pool. Good accommodation for a family of 5/6 with under 1 year old. Good, modern kitchen and bathrooms. We are very familiar with the area so we’re able to easily access good reliable local restaurants and other amenities. Significant property development immediately adjacent which some may find obtrusive, we are used to the process of building in the Algarve so did not find it a problem. Swimming pool had clearly not been attended to for a while and it took 4 days until this was sorted. But during the period it was usable. No cleaning materials left for use initially such as bin sacks, dish washer tablets, rinse aid or washing up liquid so these had to be acquired. It would be helpful to be advised of this prior to arrival.
Management staff very attentive to queries, maid very helpful. Air con was a bonus particularly with small baby.
We would stay here again most definitely.
