About this house rental
The Pacific Paradise is a popular rental home located in the sought after Dory Pointe subdivision and only 2 blocks to the beach. There are large over stuffed comfortable sofas in the living room and an open floor plan that allows for family and friends to gather and share new and old memories or watch the game on TV. There is a gas fireplace to stay cozy and warm. The beautiful kitchen is fully stocked and ready for delicious meals to be prepared. The Pacific Paradise is a 4 bedroom house with 1 king size bed and 3 queen size beds. Outdoors there is a deck with a picnic table, propane BBQ. Brand new hot tub on the deck. There is BLM land on east side of house where you will feel like you are in the trees. You will find a walking trail in the BLM Land. The same families return year after year. This beautiful home will easily become a favorite destination for your getaway and your pet companion is also welcome.
The immediate neighborhood is just a short walk away to several restaurants. There is so much to explore along Pacific City's unspoiled coastline including beach combing, whale watching, horseback riding, surf rentals or just sit relaxing next to the pounding surf. Bring your kayak to launch into the Nestucca River or rent one locally.
Pet fee is per pet, per stay. Multiple pets require multiple fees. Pets must please stay off the furniture and beds and never left alone inside the house or garage unless in a kennel. Pet limit is 2.

We enjoyed the house and the wooded area behind it. It’s walking distance to The Pelican Restaurant and beach access although we drove because it was raining heavily! The kitchen was well equipped and the kids had tons of fun in the game room!

First off, we really enjoyed our time in Pacific City. We visited with 4 adults, kids (5-9 years old) and our small dog. The house suited our family well but would have been a bit disappointing had it been just a group of adults.
The highlights of the house are the proximity to the beach, the backyard facing the forest (great for kids and dogs) and the game room in the garage for kids. The kids had a great time.
The downsides were the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the house. Many of the issues could be explained by the challenges of constant moisture and sand which would be difficult to stay on top of. But it seems like they could do more to make sure the house is good shape which would make their guests more comfortable. Then there were things that 100% should be fixed before a guest arrives.
The kitchen faucet is visibly broken and beyond repair. It sprays all over since the push bottom for spray/stream is broken off and stuck between the two settings. It should’ve been fixed before we arrived. This compounded the problem of the dishwasher not working since we had to wash by hand all week. We tried a dozen or more times to get the dishwasher to work and it would run for a minute then abruptly stop. It was quite annoying.
The sliding patio door is practically jammed and requires tremendous force to open it wide enough to go through. On top of that the screen door will not stay in the tracks. It was a constant issue having to open/close/fix the door so the kids could go in and out to the backyard.
All of these issues could quickly be addressed with a bit of maintenance and might not be an issue going forward if prioritized. We still had a great time as we spent most of our time outside but if we were stuck inside during a stormy weekend these somewhat minor issues would’ve been quite frustrating.
Pacific city is great. The house is family friendly and you’ll love your time. Just be aware of the maintenance issues before you book.
