Convenient location for business travel on the N7 corridor. Safe and apparently secure location. High quality finishes and nice touches like a half bottle of wine and bedside chocolates from the local maker. All of this was very nice as a program. A turn down service with slippers should be added to make that last push to true 5 star.

The lack of ready communications from the room to the front desk or the restaurant was a surprise. Once you are in the room you are on your own. The particular problem I had with a heat pump whose controls never worked could not be addressed conveniently from the room and there were no instructions for the space aged remote control to determine if I was the cause of the problem. The food experience was disquieting. A chain restaurant with steaks, burgers, pizza and ribs is the very last thing I expected when I arrived. No doubt the brand pays a good rent and probably manages any catering asked of it - but this is as far from fine dining as a person gets in the Cape. The disquiet comes from staying in an almost 5 star winery and then having the food provided by a Main Road franchise more suitable for watching Saturday Super Sport broadcasts. Had I known, I would have eaten at the Signal Gun Winery restaurant Wilde Vy just down the road before I drove over to stay the night.

I was upgraded to one of the new Chapel rooms and they are amazing. Beautiful decor and very cosy.
