Good staff but....

Staff were really nice and welcoming. The breakfast was ok and the hotel was in a good location.

Parking generally in the town is difficult. The hotel only had a few spaces. Our bed seems like it needed replacing. Our room was small and a bit scruffy. The refreshments tray and loo roll weren't topped up for our arrival.

Fantastic hotel, definitely recommended, will use again

The rooms were wonderful, the staff super helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was stunning. I’ve never had such a comfortable bed, and the extra blankets and amenities in the room were lovely and very welcome.

I had to kill a big spider in my bathroom (I am severely arachnophobic), the bathroom door in my mother’s room wouldn’t close because the bed was in the way (?!), and I burned my finger with the barest of accidental touches on the breakfast area.

Welcoming staff, shame about the bed

It is a great location, the staff are all very nice, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was nice and plenty of it.

I could not sleep, the mattress is completely worn out. There was a deep dip in the middle I had to put the towel three times double to cover up the dip and I still could not sleep or find a comfortable position. It is a shame because the staff are very nice and the hotel environment is welcoming, but I go there to sleep.

Pleasant staff and comfortable twin room. Adequate for short stay. Breakfast smelled lovely but it was not part of the package and we went in to town. Very convenient location.

Room very hot and we were unable to adjust the heating in the bathroom. Other friends had booked directly and had a better deal + breakfast included.

Loved it! Historic and kind. Classic!

Breakfast was amazing. Staff was responsive and incredible. Breakfast was spectacular and included.

Dinner was not served because of an event, which made sense and we weren’t upset.

OK for one night

The location is perfect, right in the centre of town. The room was spacious and the shower was really nice. There was a hairdryer in the room and a kettle with tea and coffee.

I don't normally care about this sort of thing, but the room was extremely dated. The furniture and carpets seemed grotty and worn out. The queen bed was just 2 singles pushed together. Nothing really felt clean. The bathroom has clearly been updated more recently than the rest of the room, but the heating was on full blast and I couldn't turn it off, making it very hot. I was only able to open the window a little bit. I know it's not a 5 star hotel, but it wasn't bottom-of-the-barrel cheap either and could use a few improvements.

In Jersey this B and B would be shut down .

Firstly my bed sheets had make up (mascara ) on my pillow case and bed sheets, so dirty not changed bedding … My towels had rips and holes in them ! ! The carpet was unpleasant, the laminated furniture had peeled off and not maintained or cleaned .. As for the bathroom under the toilet seat was splashed with diarrhea and sink unit wall … plug in the bath was full of other people’s hairs !!! Also my room was above a smoking area so stank of cigarette smoke!!! So for 2 night at £281.51 shocking!!!

Great location. The staff were all really lovely and helpful. The breakfast was great.

It would be great to have an armchair in the room, but this might be difficult, given the size of the room. There was some age showing in the sealing of the shower, which is a pity, as the room otherwise seemed newly refurbished and clean.

Didn't have a double bed got 2 singles. Room very tired Tea stains on wall Bathroom tiles cracked Bathroom window cracked Advertising parking but only got 4 spaces for 20 room hotel. This is the reason I picked Hotel. Overall very poor experience for price we paid

Not an ideal area, might be close to pier and shops etc but if you want parking find another hotel.

Breakfast was fine. Walking distance to main attractions and pier.

False advertising regarding parking, only 6 spaces if that, so we had to drive around to find a spot on the street near hotel, only to come out in the morning to find someone had thrown a dirty child’s nappy on the roof. Says a lot about the area. My husband was extremely pissed off!!

Wouldn't choose to holiday there, it was cheap emergency accommodation.

Had last minute available as my son had an emergency stay in hospital - were not local & was only passing through. Only booked 3 beds and got 4 single beds. It's on the sea front.

Staff not overly friendly Envelope with keys, and guest name on display at reception- GDPR? Staff didn't even leave his little room at the back of reception to greet us. Beds uncomfortable Breakfast is a standard greasy spoon, fine, there was a hair in the bacon on the hot plate- a member of staff watched me pick up 3 slices of bacon and put it straight in the bin, without asking why. Parking only enough for a couple of cars.

The restaurant, what was full on people in the morning , and the coffee was terrible. The staff was really nice, and kindly, but they couldn't manage the busy restaurant. The bathroom need a refurbishment.

Good value for money, friendly, close to everything

Location, room size and quality were better than expected. breakfast was great - good selection and staff friendly - having read recent reviews I was concerned that cleanliness might be an issue but everywhere was very clean. Only minor issue was parking - only approximately 4 spaces and tricky to get in and out of. However north road car park is close by and only £7 for 24 hours - so once luggage was dropped off we parked in car park and walked everywhere

It would be better to be honest about parking and keep the few spaces you have reserved for disabled or poor mobility guests plus one for drop off and pick up.

Great location for a short stay

We had booked a twin room but in fact we were given a large family room which was very comfortable. There were 5 beds and a large sitting room. The location was very near the promenade and there was a small private car park.

We had hoped that the restaurant would be open but it wasn't, however there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Looks can be deceiving

Communal areas such as the reception area seem clean and fresh. Breakfast was adequate.

Rooms and bathrooms were dirty. There was a lot of hustle and bustle from the cleaning staff, in corridors and stairwells. But it didn't translate to the bedrooms. Dirty toilet, loose toilet seat. Used soap placed back in box. Towels and toilet paper had to be requested. Dead flies and dust/hair all over bathroom floor/skirting.

Disaster. Our last night of our trip was ruined!

We didn't get to stay here because the owner moved our booking from the four seasons to their sister hotel. Queensbridge in Aberystwyth. We were given no reason for this. He also promised us sea views, which we didn't get. The lift stops operating at 9pm, we arrived at 10pm. Family of 6, all luggage had to be carried up the stairs. One of our rooms was on 1st floor, our other room was on 4th floor! Have lodged complaints with Booking.com who have informed me that that behaviour is unacceptable. We received no apology. no reason as to being moved, and also no refund for the price difference. In fact, he seemed shocked when I asked about it. Four Seasons was more expensive when I booked it, which we did because they have their own car park which we needed. We had to park on the street outside the Queensbridge. Very annoyed with the treatment we received and I would advise everyone to stay away from both 'hotels'!

Poorly maintained premises Unwelcoming reception staff Rude proprietor and quite scary individual Uncomfortable facilities such as the room poorly ventilated, Carpet not cleaned for some time, appeared to have dog hair or fluff 😞 Security of building very unsafe, people from the street using side door to access patio area, People talking in patio area throughout the night keeping us awake.... Usefe food handling during breakfast, ( keeping spray cleaning bottles on counter top, not washing hand after using spray and handling bread to toast) door open into kitchen to full view of guests. Bedding didn't appeared fresh Window full of bird dropping Corridor and stairs into room really dirty and badly kept Images on booking.com do not represent reality Absolutely DO NOT recommend
