The facade of the building is beautiful and the grounds are stunning
The rooms are comfortable
And the breakfast is very nice
The confusion of booking in at reception was difficult. The room was incorrect to start with but it was eventually rectified. With some persistence

This hotel, a converted mansion, looked impressive inside and out. The receptionist kindly upgraded our room free of charge. It was clean, spacious, and had a large bath. The bar offered a good selection of drinks and stayed open late. After an eight-hour motorcycle ride through Germany, it seemed a welcome place to unwind.
We checked into the hotel after 10PM, exhausted and dusty, so we ran a bath while unpacking. As we got in, we heard banging from the other side of the wall but ignored it, as we were quiet and mindful of the time.
Minutes later, there was loud knocking at the door. Assuming it was an emergency, I jumped out of the bath and answered. The night porter stood there, saying guests had complained about us "running the taps for too long." I explained that we were filling a bath and had been considerate—no loud noise, music, or TV. He insisted that neighbours disliked the sound of water in the pipes and asked, "What are you going to do about it?"
Dripping wet, confused, and uncomfortable, I didn’t want a confrontation. It was past 11PM, we were unpacked, and had no other hotel options, so I promised we would finish quickly. We avoided using the hair dryer and even hesitated to flush the loo.
Later, I went to reception to complain, stating that we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I reiterated that guests should be able to use basic facilities at any hour and that we should not have been put in this situation. The hotel's plumbing and soundproofing were not our problem, yet the staff showed no understanding.
In the morning, we spoke to the shift manager, who was dismissive and impolite, insisting the hotel was in the right. We were offered a free breakfast, which we politely declined before leaving.

Location
No soap at sink in bathroom and the soap dispenser in shower was empty. I did tell them but it wasn’t changed until I went to reception with the empty one and they gave me a new one. No apologies were given.

Beautiful place. Excellent staff. We really liked it there. I want to stay in this hotel again next year.

A beautiful building looks amazing from the outside.
Really gone downhill since Fletcher hotels took over. Booked in Jan for August and asked if we could have two rooms together - at check in we were told it wasn’t possible. The staff member didn’t care. Worse of all both our rooms smelled really badly of sweat and feet - not the case last year when we visited. Such a shame. More like a budget motel now!

The staff at the reception and the dining area were very friendly and helpful. We had a situation with a room given upon our arrival, and it was sorted out immediately by the Reception. The hotel is located on the outskirts, with fields and horses surrounding it. There is a supermarket accross the street. We also rented bicycles from the hotel for a day, which is a must experience when in Holland.

This is a stunning hotel in it's own grounds, and the whole set up is very impressive. We only stayed one night but enjoyed every minute of it. We would consider going back when we visit Baarlo next time.
It seems petty to say that the queue for drinks at breakfast was a pain, but in truth it was the only down side of our stay. A small point.

Hotel is very close to highway - so very convenient to get there.
Room was clean, cozy and nice. The breakfast was also great. And you can park your car easily here.
The garden is also amazing - you can take a coffee or cocktail and go enjoy it.
Sometimes there's no one at the reception - so you might have to wait for a while

very spacious room with nice renewed bathrooms. Really nice restaurant and bar and the location is great.
The rooms has limited towels, limited cups, limited soaps, no drinking water at all. it would have been better if some of these items were included in the room..

The property is absolutely charming. the hotel is located in an old estate that has many original details but has been modernized in a thoughtful way. the restaurant is particularly attractive and the grounds are beautiful.
I felt that the rooms needed to be upgraded a bit. they were extremely clean which was terrific and the bed was very comfortable but the carpet near my bed had stains and the bathrooms need to be updated.

The beds were fabulous and the room was exceptionally high standard with a lovely bathroom. We would definitely visit again.
The restaurant menu was not family friendly. Staff told us there was only a "tasting menu" on the night we were there and no light bites. The food looked amazing but not what a family with a teenager wants to eat after a long drive. There are a lot of local restaurants but all involve getting back in the car.

No AC in rooms.
