About this cottage rental
Located in the heart of Carova, wild horses roam the property. A short walk or drive (2 minutes) to the beach nestled with in the live oak trees. House sits 3rd row back from the ocean front. Great views of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. Safely located 1.5 blocks from FD/EMS. (MUST HAVE 4X4 TO GET TO THIS PROPERTY) We have well water in this area of the Outer Banks. Though we have a complete water system, please bring bottled water for drinking and cooking.

I had originally rented the place for Fourth of July. Very last minute as our rental home was booked.. even more last minute ours canceled and Josie was gracious enough to allow our friends to stay there in lieu of us. I thought that was so kind of her to allow us to do that. I was told they thought it was very nice. Best of luck to you in the future.

This is a great place for a family. The house has everything you need and was very clean and comfortable. There is an ice maker and water filter which we made use of. Pristine beaches with wild horses a short walk- or even shorter drive from your door. The house has a high lookout with a great view of the ocean. The listing makes it clear that we needed bottled water and a truck with 4 wheel drive so we came prepared and are now seasoned beach drivers. I’m glad we arrived early because it’s an hour round trip to the grocery store, and you don’t want to drive the beach at night when the tide comes in. Read up on beach driving if it’s new to you. This made the trip even more of a fun adventure for us though. We watched the sunrise on the beach and came back to wild horses grazing in the lawn behind the house. We flew kites, hunted ghost crabs and built sandcastles. Very memorable. Would love to come back someday.

We had a wonderful time. The property was very clean and near the beach. I know that the description says you jeed a 4x4 to get to property. However. I did not realize that it would be the access beach driving on. Also the address given to me was a different street then where we were staying . We enjoyed the nature and the horses. It was overall a great trip. Thank you for letting us stay
