Olamanga Beach Villa Adults Only

Olamanga was exactly what I needed. A wonderful property with sand everywhere, a gorgeous lounge area with pool and lush tropical surroundings that made it incredibly easy to just switch off and unwind. There are plenty of spots to lounge around the property, and I genuinely spent a lot of my three nights here simply enjoying the space rather than venturing out. Ralu and Lee who run the property are genuine, friendly, and supportive with any request. The staff are equally helpful and attentive. The in-house restaurant and bar serves meals throughout the day with a great cook, so you never feel the need to go far for food. My terrace room was a decent size with a very generous seating area and its own kitchenette, well equipped, clean, and provided with all the essentials. A lovely touch I didn't anticipate was Ralu's aromatherapy diffuser in the room. I didn't think much of it at first but after spending enough time there, the difference in ambience was genuinely noticeable and added to the overall sense of calm. The beach is a one-minute walk away and absolutely gorgeous, noticeably less crowded than other beaches on the island. In-house massage services can also be arranged. And if you love cats, two resident ones are always lounging around the property. Give them a few pets from me.

A couple of things to note: Payment involved a 50% deposit in advance via bank transfer in Euros, with the remainder payable in cash/ card on arrival. This appears to be standard practice for the property, but worth being aware of in advance, particularly if exchange rates or international transfer fees are a consideration for you. WiFi was also spotty and occasionally unavailable, particularly on the upper floor during power fluctuations, which was challenging when trying to work. A water dispenser would also be a welcome addition since buying individual bottles adds up when all you want is to refill a reusable one.

The property is stunning, and it’s obvious that a lot of care was put into making it special; from the furniture to the scent chosen for the rooms, the restaurant menu and everything in between!

There was nothing we didn’t like. The water temperature did sometimes vary but that wasn’t overly bothersome and it was actually quite refreshing at times!

A wonderful place to relax, private pool, the beach is so close, clean rooms, attention to every detail, excellent hotel service, delicious breakfasts served in the morning. A big plus is the restaurant, which in our opinion had the best food in the entire town. An additional advantage is the help in organizing trips. Amazing owners—we wholeheartedly recommend it. Definitely worth choosing when staying in Jambiani. If we ever return to Jambiani, it will definitely be our choice. 🤍

The hotel is very beautifully designed and the location right on the beach is truly wonderful. The surroundings and the overall atmosphere could make for a perfect stay.

Unfortunately, the experience was seriously affected by constant technical issues. The electricity went out frequently, the Wi-Fi barely worked during our stay, and on one day we even had no running water for the entire day. The staff repeatedly provided excuses for these problems. What was especially disappointing is that other nearby hotels did not seem to have any of these issues, which shows that this is not a general problem in Zanzibar but rather a matter of poor management at this property. It is a shame, because the hotel has great potential, but these shortcomings significantly reduced the comfort and overall quality of our stay.
