Hyfrydle Cottage

The house had literally everything we could have needed for a comfortable stay- a home from home. Nothing was skimped on- utensils, cleaning products, bedding and blankets, wood- all we needed was to turn up! The views were amazing. All in all- a lovely cottage with very welcoming hosts.

Not a criticism of this cottage at all - Location was very remote- needed a car to get everywhere except the amazing walk through the slate mines down the road. This isn't really a negative though- it's just that we have an electric car and ev charging in Wales is absolutely crazy- there are hardly any charging points so we were basically stuck without a vehicle to get anywhere decent as it took 90% of our charge to get to the destination and the welsh chargers take 3 hours to give around an extra 15% charge. Anyone thinking of taking an electric car- I strongly suggest you think otherwise- go with traditional petrol/diesel- it added a huge layer of stress to our holiday that we didn't need! Definitely not a criticism of this cottage though- cottage owners- please feel free to pass this on to the local council!

Lovely little cottage next to the hills in Wales, a perfect location if you’re planning on climbing Snowdon, about a half hour drive from the Watkins Path car park. Cosy cottage which was a lot bigger than we expected.

We had quite warm weather (for September) and had the garden been better maintained (grass cut, weeded etc) we would have got quite a lot of use out of it especially in the evening. There is also the little out house however not for those with a fear of spiders! We were quite disappointed by the maintenance of the garden but this would be the only negative of our stay at Hyfrydle cottage.
