Then this detached family home in Paignton, set just a six-minute walk from Broadsand Beach, should more than deliver the goods. A home made for entertaining, in summer months, spill outside onto the stylish deck and garden for alfresco dining, lounging about, or a game of table tennis. Surrounded by palm trees bringing all the English Riviera vibes, and with so many patios we've lost count, it would be impossible not to relax out here. In winter, take things inside to snuggle up in one of three living spaces and break out the home's board games – those views of the sea will be right there through the picture windows. Or sneak away with a good book to the top of the house – a snug room (which doubles as a fifth bedroom) with magnificent coastal views has your name all over it. That is if the youngsters don't get there first. When it's time to lay your head, one big hug of a bed awaits upstairs in the four luxurious bedrooms. United by soothing coastal hues, each room is as pristine as the next, and nearly all offer beautifully kitted-out ensuite bathrooms. If you can be tempted to leave this seaside escape, take your pick from an array of golden sandy beaches for bucket-and-spade days. Or, up the ante with bracing walks along the South West Coast Path just moments away. You can always reward yourselves with a fish and chip supper on Paignton's traditional pier (a ten-minute drive) afterwards.
